President Obama's decision on Afghanistan was tardy, messy -- and courageous.
In contrast to the expectation that he would settle on a timid half-measure, Obama took more of a seven-eighths measure, leaving his commanders impressed and satisfied. In contrast to former vice president Richard Cheney's charge that Obama is making national security decisions for "small 'p' political reasons," the president opposed his political base. There is no credible explanation for these actions except a commitment to the national interest. It is time to rally around the president....

I seriously doubt that any of our officers or troops were impressed with Obama. Seriously.
“President Obama’s decision on Afghanistan was tardy, messy — and courageous.”
They really shouldn’t allow Bammy to write his own introductions like this...but, it’s the CommmiePost...how are they still in business?
Yes, I'll rally around him... in January of 2013 when he'll be physically escorted off the White House grounds.
30,000 ordered to fight strictly a PC war.
Advertise to al-Queda when we will abandon it.
Anyone see a problem here?
Or sooner.
If that's the definition of courageous, then Tiger Wood's wife Elin deserves the Congressional Medal of Honor...
Uh, he dragged it out, fell short of troop requests, had added PC rules to the battlefield and announced our withdrawal. I am happy he is sending additonal troops and am in 100% support of the commander’s goals on the battlefield. For that, I am glad Obama is offering some measure of support to the generals in terms of additional manpower. His overall strategy and conduct on the war is awful, though.
I won’t rally around someone who was more upbeat about the 18 month withdrawal plan than he was about winning this thing.
No. Not while we have an anti-American fascist in our White House.
It WILL BE time to rally around the president.... when we have an eligible American in our White House.
It WILL BE time to rally around the president.... when we have a president who loves America and works to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
It WILL BE time to rally around the president.... when we have a leader who hates terrorism and other forms of evil.
It WILL BE time to rally around the president.... when she takes her Oath of Office on January 20, 2013:
C’mon folks, in comparison to other parts of his program this is a sterling success.
He needs to be encouraged to set reasonable, not PC rules of engagement, support our guys to the hilt, and to make sure his generals are more concerned about victory than diversity.
He did a lot of blaming Bush, told some stretchers if not whoppers, gave a pull-out date he shouldn’t have, ad nauseum.
But would it have better if he’d pleased his base and said “I’m ordering an immediate withdrawal tomorrow.” ?
I think not, but we’ll have to see. If this is an LBJ style move, with crippling rules of engagement and our guys dying with the ultimate goal an abandonment, I’ll never forgive him.
man-boy.
We need a leader.
Impressed? Yes. Favorably? No.
