I’m glad she is distancing herself from the birthers. It’s a terrible move for her to get involved in the birther issue."

She is... but she really isn't. There is nothing that Gov. Palin says to discount the arguments of patriotic Americans (the so-called "birthers") concerning 0bama's birth certificate and his unwillingness to let the public see it.

If anything, she adds another layer to 0bama's absurdity on the issue - she appeased the MSM by producing Trig's BC, even though it had absolutely nothing to do with her own eligibility to be VP. She did it as a good-will gesture toward those who did not deserve it. 0bama fails to show the same good will even toward those who do deserve it.

Gov. Palin is simply staying above the fray. She will keep on the issues, including this one if need be. Think two-front war - to say the BC isn't important because the "more pertinent" ones are is a false dichotomy. The BC is every bit as pertinent an issue, even if most of the public doesn't care.

I hope she does keep talking about the issues that most Americans want to know about. Obama’s birth certificate isn’t one of them. Let’s try the economy, the deficit, jobs, national security, foreign policy, REAL healthcare reform, etc.

I really do hope your take is right on this... Perhaps I’m touchy, but then so many of us Patriotic Americans, as you said, are regarding this issue. I think I’m just sick and tired of “Conspiracy” talk in regards to this issue. It makes it sound as if Obama has already gone above and beyond to prove he was eligible when nothing of the sort has ever been done, ya know?

" Gov. Palin is simply staying above the fray "

Yes, she is staying above the fray without getting down and dirty in the mud and the arguments of the issue and on the same token, she has brought it to the forefront.
She handed it back to the people and let the people argue the merits of the arguments.
She is giving answers like how Jesus gave answers to the Pharisees when they tried to get him in a " GOTCHA " moment...
Remember when the Pharisees caught the woman in adultery and tried to trick Jesus with the question what to do with this woman caught in adultery ?
He knew, that, if he said to let her go, he would be violating the law of Moses to stone her.
If he said, stone her, he knew they would go to the Roman authorities, they were not allowed to condemn someone without the Roman authorities approval.
Jesus said " he who is without sin, cast the first stone "
I believe that Sarah Palin is being guided by the hand of God..... she has some great wisdom.

Spot on. I think the original statement, and ESPECIALLY the Facebook post heading this thread, are extremely savvy responses on multiple levels. I think she is being wonderfully inscrutable in her Facebook post! I think that that kind of skill indicates that she would indeed be an excellent player in foreign policy if POTUS.
