Speaking to the conservative talker Rusty Humphries today, Sarah Palin left the door open to speculation about President Obama's birth certificate.
"Would you make the birth certificate an issue if you ran?" she was asked (around 9 minutes into the video above).
"I think the public rightfully is still making it an issue. I don't have a problem with that. I don't know if I would have to bother to make it an issue, because I think that members of the electorate still want answers," she replied.
"Do you think it's a fair question to be looking at?" Humphries persisted.
"I think it's a fair question, just like I think past association and past voting records -- all of that is fair game," Palin said. "The McCain-Palin campaign didn't do a good enough job in that area."
McCain's campaign counsel has said the campaign did look into the birth certificate question and, like every other serious examination, dismissed it.(continued)

I just don’t see how the birther take would be as convincing a platform as maybe writing an op-ed on how to fix the economy. I’d focus on that but hey she is doing fine with her own agenda.
You go, Sarah!
They raised the issue of McCain’s birth certificate, but Wimp McCain couldn’t be bothered to raise the same question about Obama. Oh, that would be racist!
And as Sarah points out, they raised the issue of Trig’s birth certificate, smeared her baby and smeared her daughter. Why was that OK, but no one is allowed to question Obama?
The COLB that was released was found to be a phony.
So, the Powers-behind-Obama know that any other attempts to produce another fake will be combed-over in a similar manner and any inconsistencies will stand-out like Central Florida cow hunters at a South Beach rave club.

Whats up with all the Birther Stories today?
Why does she have to choose one issue and not the other? Both are relevant. And plenty of other issues that Sarah is solid on.
I’m not sure. Maybe something’s in the wind...
I agree. I’ll await her economy op-ed.
She gave the right answer to what some would consider a “gotcha” question. Any other Republican would be stammering like Obama after the TelePrompter malfunctions.
I would rather be Governed by Sarah Palin than Ruled by the Kenyan Obama.
Oh Hell yes. This woman is unafraid to speak truth to power and demand the answers we do. I love her.

No comment, enjoy!
Does anybody really think the MSM is going to make a big splash over this issue?
I don’t think they will for two reasons. One, it will simply raise the issue again in the public eye, allowing for even more people to be exposed to the turth. And two: They too aren’t so sure about Obama’s qualifications anymore. Bringing this issue up again will be a no-win for the Left.
Bring it on!

Amazing how often my exact thoughts are expressed succinctly by Palin. Almost every time she speaks. On this issue, it is just that. A fair question. I have no idea either way, but it is certainly a valid issue, and he is going to great lengths to avoid dealing with it in court.
