A World War II fighter plane that crashed into an icy Lake Michigan during a training flight almost 65 years ago was brought to the surface Monday.

The Hellcat is one of the great underrated aircraft of WWII. It doesn't get as much fame as its cousins the Corsairs & Mustangs but it was a true workhorse.
