I’m fixing to say I told you so.
I told you that man made global warming was a scam, and now it has been exposed as exactly that.
In what has been coined as “Climate Gate,” due to the leaking of thousands of private e-mails from within the global warming priesthood centered within the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit in Great Britain, a pattern of manipulation, suppression and selection of data and evidence all designed to create and maintain the global warming myth has been discovered.
In other words they have been “cooking the books,” to make it appear global warming is being caused by human beings and predicting the world would warm to catastrophic levels unless trillions of dollars are spent to avert it.
Where would all this money come from? From obvious and underhanded carbon taxes, environmental fees and emission permit fees funded from increased energy and food costs, which would fall on every consumer and every shareholder, and is contained in the Cap and Trade (cap and tax) climate legislation which the U.S. Senate began open partisan debate on this week.
I must confess this close knit group of American and British scientists responsible for this, the greatest fraud of all time, have done an outstanding job using their influence in driving the worldwide alarm over global warming through their role in the United Nation’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
Some schools are actually teaching this false theory as fact.
After systematically refusing to release their data through open records, the hacked e-mails revealed these scientists trying to manipulate data through their computer programs to always point in only one desired direction—to lower past temperatures and to adjust recent temperatures upwards, in order to convey the impression of an accelerated warming.
Even more shocking is the revelation these scientists and academics have schemed and collaborated to silence any question of their findings, to have any dissenter or doubter drummed out of their profession, ridiculed and even accused them of thinking the world is flat.
The trio of treachery, science, academia and our own government, have convinced a lot of people that the burning of fossil fuel is destroying the earth, which is simply not true.
The truth is man has no control over the climate, and all that the cap and tax scheme will do is further destroy jobs, profits and future prosperity. Their global warming campaign is not about climate, or energy conservation.
It’s about power and cash, as evidenced by profiteers showing slide shows to our kids, making goofy movies and trying to funnel billions of dollars into their pockets.
Will these deceivers be called to account and treated as the Bernie Madoffs of the scientific and academic world? We shall see. In the meantime they’ll be plotting the spin they intend to put on their great deception, and they’ll all show up at the IPCC meeting in Copenhagen, scheduled for later this month. And the last I heard the president of the U.S. planned to attend.
But while they’re there concocting more lies, we’ll be fixing to know the truth.

I mean, did he say this yesterday, or last month, or last year, or....?

Well, for those of us who have fought the false philosophy and teaching of materialism (and materialistic evolution) for years, this should come as no surprise. Evolution has just been telling its lie louder and longer, with far more research money behind it.
But I digress.
In doing my own research on the hacked e-mails, I found this gem:

These guys knew the earth was cooling, yet continued to defraud the public because they were afraid of the same kind of academic retribution they had seen foisted on others (and which they helped create), to push a political agenda and, most of all, to keep their grant monies coming in.
These people are detestable in the extreme and should prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
You might could go through his archives. Most likely he has written about the subject before and declared global warming a hoax. I’m sure he knows he is not the only one who’s been saying it.
The message in the article is what’s important. As someone said earlier, it is a great summmary of the scam.

"Mathematica" first plots out the data itself (see Atachment 1)
The first part of the instruction set lets "mathematica" do a Fourier Transform on the data, ie. searching out the periodicities, if there are any. The result is shown on Attachment 2.
The transform result shows a sharp spike at the 11 year point (I wonder what is significant about 11 years?). The second part of the instructions now acts upon this observed spike (the Cos 11 bit), to extract it's waveform from the rest of the noise. The result is shown as a waveform in attachment 3, the waves having an 11-year period, with the long-term Sydney warming easily evident.
Attachment 4 shows the original Sydney data overlaid against the 11-year periodicity.
It would appear that the solar cycle does indeed affect temperature.
(I tried the same run on the CRU global temperature set. Even though CRU must be highly smoothed by the time all the averages are worked out, the 11-year pulse is still there, albeit about half the size of Sydneys).

I take it as more self delusion than fraud or hoax. The greatest medical advance of the Twentieth Century was the double blind clinical trial.
The problem at CRU is more one of uncontroled acceptance bias, the normal human tendency to accept information that we are comfortable with and reject information that makes us uncomfortable. With all due respect, FR is a clinical example of acceptance bias.
Acceptance bias is not acceptable in science, because the entire point of the scientific method is to overcome the limitations of human psychology, to allow us to see the truth despite our prejudices, fears and hopes.
William Herschel correlated wheat prices in London (a proxy for climate) with sunspot number over a span of a couple of centuries as far back as the late 1700’s.
I want reparations for any additional expense I have incurred as a result of any policy/tax or fee associated to the now proven false beyond a doubt (the debate is OVER) "Global Warming".
Anyone associated with perpetuating "Climate Fraud" to any degree should be punished for "crimes against humanity".
You might reasonably refer to something like the Romney examples of late, which are, IMHO, a pre-emptive response to the type of abuses which have saddled the Republican presidential ticket with the likes of McLame. The cauldron of discussion that sorted all that out was very well represented by the spectrum of Republican (and other) input.
On the resonably instructive side of your comments, there is a certainly among FR members a raft of "less-thoughtful", predictable responders, who in typical parlance might be called "the choir." They do tend readily to "pile on".
Your insightful comments about the double blind clinical trial method and overcoming the limitations (and predispositions) of human psychology, are tremendously on-point, however. Thank you.
The crew@CRU had overwhelming career-advancing and financial incentives dangling before them. To suggest "self-delusion" would explain their behavior would typify excuse-finding, blame-minimizing psychologizing that has so muddied our legal system. The fraud clearly perpetrated by these hucksters, while fanned by the high and mighty from the Leftist political classes, has diverted hundreds of billions of dollars from useful purposes to entirely counter-productive ones while falsely destroying the professional careers of many of our highest-minded true scientists and presenting skewed examples to those still coming up through the ranks. That's more than mere self-convinced delusion at work there.
Many politicians, e.g. Babs Boxer, appear insufficiently prescient or savvy to let the crew@CRU be the fall-guys and extract themselves from culpabilty. Perhaps they are simply more guided by the Boutos Boutros-Ghali and Coffee Ananas examples of how UN scandals like Food-for-Oil have played out.
Leftist Media, Leftist politicians, Leftist academics (now there's a redundancy) and Leftist movers and shakers in the scientific world all seem to be punishably complicit in this greatest fraud of all time! I won't be excusing anyone just because the claim they were deluded.
