Global warming? The Earth has her own tricks to keep carbon count in control!

Perhaps it is comforting to believe that science is an absolute discipline: immune from fads, fanatics and frauds, untroubled by extremists, evangelists, glory-seekers and bigots. But it is not. It is as vulnerable to the vested interests and biases of its practitioners as any corporate entity or political party. Uncomfortable truths are suppressed and dubious evidence given undue prominence.

Nowhere is this more worryingly obvious than in the science of climate change. As a field of research it has become so heavily politicised that opposing views are spoken of in terms of religion: believers and non-believers, with the accent being on the righteousness of the former and the benighted state of the latter.

Those who believed scientists to be relentless seekers of the truth will have been shocked by the row sparked by a hacker who got hold of emails sent by staff at the University of East Anglia.

Emails exchanged by Climate Research Unit showed statistics had been finessed using 'tricks' and material that didn't fit the computer model of Climate Change presented to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was allegedly suppressed.

In my book Heaven And Earth, I hinted at the existence of this sort of activity and was pilloried by those who have everything to gain from keeping the climate-change gravy train rolling. Sensationalist theories are generated by scientists who have evolved into professional alarmists who can influence the IPCC and reap rewards in research grants and fame. The trouble is that the only way to protect this position - and transmit their message of doom and gloom - is for the elite little coterie of climate comrades in the UK and United States to ignore geology, archaeology, history, astronomy and solar science. You see, these are the things that don't fit.

The “climate comrades” is what he calls the global warming scientists. Or at least the cabal of schemers at CRU East Anglia

If the earth was not self regulating it would have crapped out millions of years ago, quite possibly long before the Age of Crap.

Yep...the ole Earth seems to be able to take care of itself. After all, it has had many thousands of years to perfect its capabilities. I expect that we puny people are insignificant in the whole problem of weather and “temperature”..

Don’t let that stop the One World Government people though - they need something really big to gain control.

Yes, and some of the mechanisms are pretty simple. Plants love CO2, and if they can get more of it, they grow faster and bigger, and lock up more of it out of the atmosphere. The fact that so-called “climate scientists” seem to completely ignore this fact is enough for me to dismiss anything they are pushing.

Planktonic algae and passive plate margins have been sequestering carbon for some time.

Exactly...Wonder why they don’t mention that all this extra CO2 is really good for plants (They tend to grow like weeds - heh) and of course that means more Oxygen output by those plants (Is that bad?). Would really love to see some real scientific research regarding this but will not hold my breath...heh.

Great book. I’ve reread it at least three times. Lots of information.

There are three natural ways of sequestering carbon. Photosynthesis, Weathering Reactions, and Ocean Uptake. All of which overwhelm anything we can add to atmosphere.

The man is very good. Not a hippie scientist like a lot of the CRU people and similar types. If they want to be hippies then fine. Just don’t expect my tax dollars to pay for your lifestyle. Run off and join a commune out in the sticks but don’t you dare try to force others into living like beggars via cap and trade and other greenie scams

That’s the real scandal here — that these scammers almost (and perhaps still might) succeeded in bilking the world out of trillions of dollars, and setting back western civilization by centuries, all in the name of fraudulent political ideology disguised as fraudulent “science.”

What amazes me is that the so-called scientist at the Hadley CRU, and elsewhere, so willingly and knowingly corrupt the whole process of science.

History will not remember them kindly. Their names should eclipse the name Lysenko [The Damned] as the corruptor of science, unless they manage to change the world by installing an Orwellian 1984 scenario where history and science no longer have meaning. Is that their object?

Will the names ‘Mann’, ‘Jones’, ‘Briffa’ become pejorative adjectives? The trouble is that there are so many names.

What goes on in the minds of such people? Did they start by exploring a legitimate line of inquiry that proved so financially lucrative and empowering that they were loath to abandon it? Do they ever wake in the middle of the night in a cold sweat realizing what they have done but the following morning, clench their jaws, square their shoulders, carry on, and go to work to find mutual reassurances? Do they justify their dishonesty as a Platonic “noble lie” leading to a “better world”?
