Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin spoke at College of the Ozarks Tuesday night. In her 50-minute speech before a crowd of several thousand people at the Point Lookout, Mo., campus, Palin stressed the importance of people speaking out, even if it's not popular.
Quoting former Sen. Margaret Chase Smith, Palin said standing up for "what's right when it's unpopular is a true moral test."
She said the United States is in a "crisis of confidence" and spoke of "economic, military and values-oriented battles" ahead.
Palin was at College of the Ozarks to speak on patriotism, citizenship and civic engagement. Earlier in the day she was in Springfield, signing books for between 700-900 people at a Borders bookstore.
Palin did not discuss Afghanistan or Iraq with any specificity. She said she doesn't buy the argument that government "can save us, or make us happy, healthy, wealthy and wise."
Local TV coverage can be found here:
Sorry for the vanity; just wanted to pass along the gist of the speech.
Uh, that KY3 news story on her was less than flattering.
The reporter mentioned that she was there to “repair her national image” for a possible run for higher office, and that she spent most of her speech “blasting the media”.
W ——— T ——— F, over.
Holy local media bias, Batman.
She going to be in Fayetteville, AR tomorrow at Sam’s Club! I wish I could be there! Love her! Too bad I’m in Little Rock!
How old are you?
The reporter, David Catanese from KY3, is highly biased and stabs local/state and conservative figures in the back frequently and with glee. The same can be said about Michelle Sherwood from KSPR (and dont even go there with Ron Davis who is a known Democratic hack).
While the local paper (News-leader.com) isnt a whole lot better, their political reporter is even handed. You might want to try ozarksfirst.com as well.
Since we’re sharing intimate details of ourselves...
You go first.
Name, age, address - please.
“and that she spent most of her speech blasting the media.’
If she did, more power to her.
Nothing personal, but after reading a few pages of your latest posts - I have decided that FR is overun with angry old men who have nothing better to do than pick arguments with other people on the internet.
If this is your hobby, it might be best to do it against ideological opponents, say over at the DU.
Several of your latest posts were chastising the original posters for not providing commentary along with a youtube link because you have a slow internet connection. LOL <-—————that means “Laughing Out Loud” at you. What, are you the FR dictator or something?
Oh, and I didn’t just sprout here...I’ve been a lurker/member on FR for about 10 years now.
So just calm down, have Maud bring you a glass of metamucil, and call it a night, Gramps.
LMAO!
Palin will kick ass and take names. You can bet your bottom DU dollar on that.
