The leadership of N.O.W. doesn't care about women other than how they can use them to further their political goals.
There is no political power to be gained by standing up for actual abused/exploited women in the Islamic world.

I don’t think NOW would care.
Surely NOW knows, Muslims don’t exactly keep their subjugation and brutalization of women secret. I don’t think NOW cares about anything other than making sure women have the “right” to slaughter their unborn children for any reason including, ironically, just because they’re female.
NOW is clearly aware of this, but doesn’t want to rock the boat while a Democrat with Muslim ties is in the White House.
Why a free thinking Western woman would marry one of these beasts is beyond me....
NOW is about Socialism not Women’s rights.
My puzzlement regarding how NOW, and other organizations supposedly in support of women, never seem to speak up about these matters, was answered about a year ago.
I heard an expose on NPR that basically clarified that one of the reasons the concept of Islam, and the attendant treatment of women thereunder, is acceptable to these organizations is because in the Arab world men and women live apart and separate lives (think harem). Hence, the women bond among themselves (including lesbian relationships) and the men are only involved when they (the men) want sex.
Therefore, the core belief that women don’t need men and can have fulfilling lives with a social network of only females, fits nicely with the NOW concept of women. i.e. do your ‘duty’ for the men, but any personal relationship is with women.
Well, I just emailed it to NOW, just in case.

Sura (9:30) - "And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!"
Sura (9:123) - "O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness."
Sura (47:4) - "So when you meet in battle those who disbelieve, then smite the necks until when you have overcome them, then make them prisoners,"
Sura (61:4) - "Surely Allah loves those who fight in His way"
Sura (66:9) - "O Prophet! Strive against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be stern with them. Hell will be their home, a hapless journey's end

Muslim (1:33) - the Messenger of Allah said: I have been commanded to fight against people till they testify that there is no god but Allah, that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah
Bukhari (8:387) - Allah's Apostle said, “I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah’”
Tabari 7:97 The morning after the murder of Ashraf, the Prophet declared, "Kill any Jew who falls under your power."
Ibn Ishaq: 327 - “Allah said, ‘A prophet must slaughter before collecting captives. A slaughtered enemy is driven from the land. Muhammad, you craved the desires of this world, its goods and the ransom captives would bring. But Allah desires killing them to manifest the religion.’”
Ibn Ishaq: 992 - "Fight everyone in the way of Allah and kill those who disbelieve in Allah."

I believe this is inaccurate, at least in the original Muslim doctrine. What the Koran specifically requires is 4 male witnesses to the actual act in order to convict a woman of adultery. This was intended as protection of women, not their oppression.
This may have certainly morphed into the doctrine as stated, but if so it's a perversion of the original doctrine.
Only one radical feminist acknowledged the abuse of women under Sharia Law, and called out the other feminists on their silence. Andrea Dworkin.
While at Thanksgiving Dinner with some liberal friends, one woman said she has a nephew serving in Afghanistan. She described some of his accounts on how women are treated still by the locals. She was also critical of Obama’s policy (or lack of). She described it as “define the mission, let the troops execute the mission unfettered, or bring them home.”
