The Case for Jeb Bush Entering the 2012 Race (massive barf alert)
Race42012 ^ | 2009-12-01

Jeb Bush is unique in that he is both unknown and known. He can certainly win a GOP primary, and can raise the money to compete with frontrunners Palin and Romney. I think Jeb will be getting more involved over the next several months, starting with the Florida senate primary. I also think Cheney is a Jeb proxy, and that his attacks are meant to undermine Obama while moving the country back into the Bush/Cheney policy direction, awaiting a new leader to take the torch from the former Vice President. Remember, Cheney earlier this year, unprompted, suggested he would support Jeb Bush for president in 2012. Considering that there are significant people in the party harping about a Cheney run, as well as a media fascination with such a run, coupled with the realty that a 71 year old with a bad heart simply will not run, opens the door to Jeb Bush taking up the mantle in 2012. Bush would fill that media desire to clash Obama with Cheney, only enhancing it.

With Huckabee and Palin potentially sitting out in 2012, there is a huge opening for someone to take up the anti-Romney position. Bush, with his vast network of connections, his organizing potential, and the generation of political chits collected by the Bush family, puts Jeb in as good a position as a Pawlenty or a Daniels to make a bid and challenge Romney. Now if Palin runs, and the field fills up, then Jeb will likely wait until 2016, or simply stay out of public life and let his son, George P. Bush (nicknamed 47 by the family) take up the presidential legacy down the line.

Creeping socialism began in this country long before Obama.

What kind of dope do these GOP insiders smoke that causes them to think I would support a “moderate” like Jeb Bush?

But my political calculus machine puts Sara at <20% chance.

Are we to assume that your machine has determined that Sara's chances are <20% (sic)? You had best reprogram it. Will it show a -20% chance for SARAH Palin also?

And what results are you looking for besides more of the same? Another Jorge Boosh who grew fedgov even more than the bent one? Who presided over the largest growth of gov’t borrowing and spending in history til Obambi? An Olympia Snowe to stab us in the back some more? Juan McLame to be bestest buds with the next incarnation of Teddy NoPants Kennedy? THESE are the results we’ve gotten doing it YOUR way, while REAL Conservatives like Tom Tancredo, Duncan Hunter, Ron Paul, etc., are ignored and marginalized by the go-along establishment socialist-lite pubbies. And you have the GALL to call that RESULTS????? You are totally whacked out. I’d bet you’d even vote for slugs like Huckleberry or Romney or Julie-Annie. Results, my ass!!! I’d sure hate to know what YOU call stupidity... maybe shrinking fedgov to its Constitutional size would be stupid to you. Your screen name is probably one of the most APT I’ve seen... freeDUMB.

Oh fer cripes sake!

Look, the Bushes have a lot of good qualities. Heck, I wouldn’t mind any of them for neighbors friends or coworkers. No one can honestly say they are not good people.

But they don’t get it. They are not real conservatives. They are still too squishy around the edges, so to speak.

When it comes to government, I don’t want to see another Bush. Enough is enough.

You think Terry Schiavo would have voted for Jeb Bush?

I was just about to bring this subject up when I saw your post. Whenever I hear the name Jeb Bush, I instantly think of Terri Schiavo. As governor of FL at the time, I believe he had the responsibility of protecting all its citizens. Oh, he made some efforts, but he didn't have the guts to say "NO".

We don't need him to have any political control in the U.S., just as we'd be far better off without most in our governments. Something's terribly wrong when we can't have intelligent, patriotic, honest and ethical citizens running our governments.

“Sarah may be mortally wounded going into it.”

There is nothing that has happened so far that indicates that she is “mortally wounded”.

That is unless you believe all that lame stream media crap they spew. That stuff doesn’t matter. They are going to do that to ANY real conservative contender.

“No you didn’t. You voted for obama.”

BS. Try another line. We’ve heard it from you Pubbies before.

“It is you who is in denial. You can shave and brush your teeth (or tooth), but the bottom line is you put obama in office. Perhaps you don’t understand that elections have consequences. Your little “protest vote” was a vote for Socialism. The fact McCain was frustratingly lefty doesn’t make him nearly as bad as your candidate, obama.”

Socialist is still socialist.

“You voted for obama — own it. Your cutesy hissy fit put him in. You are responsible for the creeping socialism that he is darkening our country with.”

So, NOT voting for either of two men who want to destroy the country means I’m responsible for “creeping socialism”. I think this is what they refer to as “projection” on your part. It is YOU, sparky, who are responsible for “creeping socialism”. You excused your political party of it. You supported them in spite of it.

No, it means you voted for a direct fast track to Socialism. In the real world where the rest of us live, protest votes are merely votes for the worst of the evils.

You are responsible for obama and are a part of every thing he does. Live with it.

Fast or slightly slower, we still end up with socialism.

“You are responsible for obama and are a part of every thing he does. Live with it.”

George W. Bush, John Sleazy McCain, and the MSM are responsible for Obama, not Conservative voters who are damned tired of being ORDERED to vote for LIBERALS opposed to us to avoid the other liberal opposed to us.

From what I understand he was a decent governor in Florida — at least compared to Crist — but I will never vote for another Bush, two was enough...

Yes, yes I would. I clearly understand the need to hold my nose and vote for the lesser of evils. I have been stuck with this hateful practice for most of my adult life, because I am usually given 2 undesirable politicians to vote for and have to vote for the least damaging one.

That said, YES, if the Republicans are stupid enough to nominate Jeb Bush then I would write many letters to the RNC telling them why I am voting 3rd party for only the 2nd time in my life (I wasted my vote on Anderson).

Yes, I would let Obama push us into hard communism before I would vote for Jeb Bush. If the Republicans are that mindnumbingly stupid, then our Constitutional Republic is competely lost anyway.
