In all seriousness, may God bless and protect our troops and comfort their families. And may He bring wisdom and true love of America to the heart of Barack Obama. Oh, and may He smite our enemies real good. Amen.

LOL

He stopped, waited for applause.

They finally applauded — they thought he was finished.

He wasn’t.

I'll sum it up.

Dipsh-t cut the baby in half. Then he says in one breath we have to win in Afghanistan and in the next breath that we're leaving in 18 months.

I don't know how todays young troops feel but I imagine that most of them will have the same reaction that I had to one of my CIC's Jimmy Carter. Disgust, disdain and disillusionment.

After that speech. Would you want to send you son/daughter off to war?

HORRENDOUS SPEECH!

This speech was prepared for at least three months.

Supposed to another Roosevelt! HA!
Maybe another Elanore.

.

U.S. President Barack Obama arrives onstage to deliver an address at the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York, December 1, 2009. Obama said on Tuesday he is sending 30,000 more U.S. troops to Afghanistan by next summer to speed the battle against the Taliban and plans to start bringing some home in 18 months.

If I ever listen to a PutzOTUS read again, may I have my butt kicked up around my nose.

Anger does not come close to describing my reception to this read (speech would impute some knowledge or what the speaker is talking about). Every time DumBO talked about how it was he who was going to do this or that, I got a sinking feeling of doom for the US. As I watched, I thought I saw a toothbrush mustache growing before my eyes, and wondering when the personal allegiances were going to be sworn.

The three strategies seem designed for failure. Wait 18 months in Helman, and walk in. His heart would have been in it if he had said Allahu akbar to the Afghan people. And, Pakistan is weaker than with Musharif and he wants to work with them.

My guess is he has his money on Navy and he wanted to put Army into a stupor for a month,

I was going to make a snarky post about the cadets making good props tonight - except when you took a good look at them - they weren’t good props at all were they?

I detected some hostility in those young faces.

He is done politically. The right never would go for him, the wishy washy did’t get a check in the mail 1/21/9 and have come to the conclusion that he is way over his head. The left rejects all warfare as wrong, so he is pissing them off. He has already pissed off the intel services...
Who is left? Is he hoping to capitalize on his gains amont warmonger leftists with no concept of economics and even less of reality? Sorry, those college kids in that demographic graduated into the great economy you saved with a trillion dollars. Whenby they couldn’t get a job. Don’t count on last years crop to pull the lever in 12.
Obama is the best thing to happen to the conservative movement. Like dad making you smoke a carton of cigarettes when he caught you with a pack. McCain would be a pack of Virginia Slims Socialist Lights. Obama is the whole Socialist carton of reds.

Gold, the ultimate "safe haven" when investors fear a crisis, is currently trading at $1209/oz., an all-time high in nominal terms. Up about $28 over the past 24 hours, and up about $8 since the end of Obama's speech.

Draw your own conclusions, but it looks to me as if world markets are giving Obama a vote of no confidence.

All I can say to those who voted for him... next time you get a sales pitch for Hope And Change - read the fine print!!!

I just read the speech, I didn’t watch it. Most of it was convoluted justifications for how he had to arrive at a difficult decision. He glorified his own efforts at piecing together various opinions to try to satisfy all of them.

He satisfied nothing and no one. Demoralizing, apologetic, confusingly politically based; a perfect non-committal recipe for failure. I nominate this speech as the worst presidential speech I’ve heard in my over 50 years on the planet.

The community organizer-in-chief should have done equal research on what leadership means. A leader would have the instincts to take a stand and commit to the wisest outcome for everyone. This dude is lost.

I watched....but I really didn't hear anything but the monotone same old, same old.

All I saw was the two big letters 'B' and 'S' and not much else. Do you think my eyes and ears going bad? I almost fell asleep as well. Yawn..
