(Dec. 1) Rogues, it seems, will be rogues: As she promotes her new book with an equally hyped down-home bus tour, former vice presidential candidate and Alaska governor Sarah Palin has been jetting to some stops on a Gulfstream II private jet, which rents for $4,000 an hour.
According to the blog Palingates, which first reported the story, Palin took the plane on Nov. 21, 23 and 25 between book tour stops in Rochester, N.Y., Roanoke, Va., Fort Bragg, N.C., Birmingham, Ala., and Orlando, Fla. On Nov. 25, she then flew to Pasco, Wash., for Thanksgiving and was met at the airport by a bevy of journalists who filmed the landing.
Larger media outlets have since played up the apparent bait-and-switch. This morning on ABC's Good Morning America, Diane Sawyer introduced a segment on Palin's private-jet use by saying that Palin "frequently can be seen photographed in front of the bus that she took on the road. But ... you don't often see photos of her in front of a very expensive private plane she's been taking." Correspondent David Wright then noted that Palin was traveling in style even as "her fans camped out in the bitter cold, just for the chance to meet her."

You are mistaken. Michelle has 22 assistants.
And both Laura Bush and the Beast had much more than you list.
So what if she’s flying a private jet. I don’t care. She can ride on a magic carpet for all I care, and it wouldn’t matter - it’s her “bus tour” and she can get around on her book signing tour however she wants, and she can represent it however she wants. When you pay for it, then you can complain.
Plus it gives her traveling entourage the chance to have Thanksgiving with their families.
The publisher is paying for it, and she's spent the great majority of time on the bus.
Rather than just reporting the story, you seem to be pimping it. Why is that?
You are correct. I went to the source of the article in the Canada Free Press. 22 assistants it is...with 16 of them costing a total of $1,256,500.00 per year!
GO SARAH GO!
Well Said.
Last time I checked Harper-Collins hasn’t received bailout money... correct? I have lost track.
That would be the only catch I could think that would remotely give this article credibility.
