It was billed as a bus tour, but Sarah Palin's travels across the country to promote her new book have featured several flights on an expensive private jet, her publisher told ABC News.

The former Republican vice presidential candidate and Alaska governor, who sold off a private jet belonging to the state calling it "over the top," has been getting around the U.S. for her book tour aboard a Gulfstream 2 private jet – at a cost of $4,000 per hour....

"Sarah Palin, I think, genuinely is a hockey mom, but every so often, she gets caught up in something a little more glamorous than that," said ABC News consultant Cokie Roberts.

During the presidential campaign, Palin was heavily criticized for the fancy designer clothes that she wore. The Republican Party had paid for the clothing for Palin....

Hmmm. Are those the exact words of her publisher??? "Expensive" private jet???

Just a thought: If I was a betting person, I'd bet Sarah is making enough money for her publisher to leave them a considerable amount of extra change after paying for the expensive private jet.

Those flights didn't cost the American taxpayers a dime. Maybe ABC should look into some of the unnecessary flights being taken by folks who are living a more "glamorous life" on taxpayers' money .

The difference putzy liberal, is that Alaska's jet was paid for by the taxpayers and was not necessary, this jet is paid for by Sarah(or her publisher)and is necessary. She is a private citizen and can use whatever mode of transportation she can afford. I guess they will be jumping Al Gore next or Bozo for all the trips he takes. No? Gee, I wonder why liberals can do it but Sarah can't.

This people are unbelievable, they will use anything they can to try and trash her.

Seeing pictures of her like that, and that is one great picture, just makes a guy envious(not much, but a little)of Mr. Todd Palin:). Her book was great and really makes a lot of the things that seemed strange during the campaign clear, it also sheds some light on her early days in Alaska and the jealousies and fear that was rampant among the dimwits and the RINOs.

So what, the taxpayers money are not paying for this so she can do what ever she wants with her money. I am not a Palin fan but the hypocrite liberal media needs to STFU because as expected they are totally silent on super abuse of taxpayers money that Obama has been doing since he became President for private entertainment including the private use of Air Force One which costs vastly much more money to operate than a GulfStream private jet.

My mother walked down to her booksigning in Richland last Sunday.

This was her report:

Yesterday we walked down toward Hastings book store to observe the action.

Good thing we didn’t drive down and try to find a parking space. We walked down to observe the action, and ACTION there was. There were thousands of people in line - it went for blocks, heading west up Torbett, past McDonalds and around the corner and south down Jadwin from there. (My note: This approaches half a mile) We just went to observe so found the experience very entertaining. Whater your politics, Sarah is very personable and has a lot of endurance.

One side comment: The crowd was very organized and caused no problems even after time ran out after three hours, as opposed to a concert at the TRAC where people who couldn’t get in caused a riot (probably over-sold tickets). After the three hours of signing, Sarah went outside and worked the line where people still waited for the chance to get inside.

Wasn’t there a story just recently about the fleet of new jets for Pelosi... NOT paid for BY Pelosi... but paid for by US... FOR Pelosi.

That’s better than someone earning the money and privileges with their own private enterprise activities.

Why sure it is.

Ask Lenin, Stalin, Marx and Mao.

They’ll tell you.

$4000 per hour vs $75,000 per hour for Pelosi’s weekly visit home. But then Sarah is happy enough to travel in a chair, does not demand a bed and a private chef.

Go Sarah!

I wish she would buy her own 747 and go Rock-Star big time and have her face painted on it. I love to see her sticking in the liberals climate warming faces as took off each time. :)

Thanks!

I’ll try to open it up a little later.
I have dialup and for some reason it was still struggling to open, even after a 5 min wait.

Wouldn’t expect anything else from ABC. Another hit piece.

I bet none of those ABC hair-do on air "journalists" (former beauty contestants and cheer leaders) have never flown to an assignment on a corporate jet or had their on-air clothing provided for them either. < /s > I'm sure they always sit in the dirty waiting areas at LeGuardia with the peasents when they have to run to some breaking story.

Sarah, for some reason that I do not fully understand, seems to scare the hell out of them to the point that they are making total asses out of themselves in the process of trying to dismiss her.

Full disclosure: I have flown on the 'company jet' (a G-5) but only after having been part of the team that did one hell of a job on a project. The CEO insisted to ride us home on it as a reward rather than what we had booked in the USAir cattle car. And man, it was sweet! It can spoil you real quick to even 1st Class on any commercial flight.

I can't blame anyone for flying private when they have the opportunity... unless your a devoted apostle of the global warming cult like Al Gore, who probably seldom flies anything other then private. (We know he's much too important for that.)
