Not really. El Paso is part of the western desert part
of Texas. I heard icy precipitation (not hail) coming down here about
an hour ago...and it was in the 40s! Crazy weather patterns.

Just means there are some serious disturbances at high altitude.
Ive seen hail like crazy in the Arizona desert on 70 degree days
