I think it is a good Q. Huck was polling at least 8-10% of GOP voters, it's interesting to know whether those votes now go to the other evangelical Sarah, someone else or whether it puts Hucksters in the undecided column!
Grammar.
Spelling can be my friend...heheh.
It looks like you might not get an answer to that Q. And I thought it was a good Q. You're probably as stuned as I am. Here, have a beeber...
3. Palinista - Those who will crawl over broken glass...LOL!
Passionate intensity in defense of conservatism used to be a GOOD thing!
I understand your trying to bait the newbies by calling them "slobbering" buffons who "worship" Governor Palin -- and maybe a few of them are. And, I appreciate your reminding the rest of us that we will need to be able to back up our support for Sarah Palin with a more reasoned defense -- eventually.
But you know as well as I do that PASSIONATE INTENSITY is what wins elections. And Governor Palin inspires the kind of passionate intensity not seen on our side for a LONG time.
I don't think this is equivalent to the Willie Horton episode. Clemon's record prior to Huckabee commuting the sentence was one of theft, not violence. While Horton was a convicted 1st degree murderer.
You're friends with Kelsey Grammer?
“Palin’s Patriots.” Simply put, I think Sarah’s supporters are patriots. Salt of the earth. Working families. Military families. People who love our country for it freedoms, not for its entitlements. .’
You see this is the difference in perceptions that can doom a campaign via hubris. While some are thoughtful I’ve found other Palinistas on this site to be defensive, vulgar, nasty, profane, bigoted, close minded, ignorant, knuckle dragging buffoons.
And many of those were also people who pray and people who are proud to say God is part of their daily lives.
If the Palin supporters on this site are any indication of the future, the Palin candidacy is destined for irrelevancy.
Either she or her “juggernaut” are going to explode, at some point, and I hope when it happens it doesn’t take all of conservatism down with it.
Ya, PASSIONATE INTENSITY does a few other things as well if not matched with realistic sobriety.
Clemmons wasn't the only evidence of Huckabee being squishy on crime (and criminals). He gave clemency to more than double the number of convicts than the three previous Arkansas governors combined. More clemencies granted by Huckabee than all six neighboring states combined. The freed convicts included murderers and rapists.
Huckabee pressured the parole board to release convicted rapist, Wayne Dumond. Within a year of being released Dumond raped and murdered a woman in Missouri. Huckabee has the blood of at least five innocent lives on his hands.
McCain was unmotivating. He was just another doddering, moderate placeholder, just a vote against Democrats, just another Bob Dole. Nothing to vote for, nothing to be excited about.
The presence of Sarah Palin on the ticket changed that dynamic, for a very large number of FReepers. She provided motivation, excitement and something to vote for.
So, stating that one voted not for McCain, but for Palin is entirely rational, and it is you who are being fanciful, Bob J.
This days-long campaign of yours, is just a thinly veiled effort, to shape a negative mental image of Palin's supporters, instead of Palin herself.
It's a moderately clever workaround, since the direct attacks through intermediaries and hack consultants have backfired.
Good luck pushing another inside the Beltway, DC establishment drone in this environment, though, seriously. You're going to need it.
You, yourself are not immune to this behavior. You've rather revelled in it at times, in fact.
So, I just have to wonder if your protestations are out of a genuine sense of personal affront, or a cynical attempt at hanging a negative label upon opposition supporters. It's fairly clear to me, just what you're doing.
Comparing Sarah Palin supporters with Jim Jones followers is REALLY lame.
It's a good thing that you've followed Godwin's Law -- so far -- and have not compared her with Adolph Hitler. :o)Since I know that you're smarter than that you appear to be recently -- I will assume that you are just practicing polemics, and trying to generate thought by appealing to emotion.
And that's O.K. Some of my best friends are polemicists. ;)Carry on.
I would appreciate if we could hear from the Hucksters only and if the Palinistas could hold there twitchy trigger finger for a few.
But then you turn around and post this:
Ive found other Palinistas on this site to be defensive, vulgar, nasty, profane, bigoted, close minded, ignorant, knuckle dragging buffoons.
You know what? You should lay off the attacks on Palin supporters here if you have asked them to stay off the thread.
And you really should make an honest assessment of just what you are trying to do here - and be honest with the larger forum as well, instead of crafting this kind of schizoid thread where you ask the Palin supporters to exercise restraint when you are apparently unwilling to exercise such yourself.
Always was for Sarah!
Ether Reagan rises or I am not voting.
I think it’s safe to say that Sarah has one less opponent to worry about in 2012 !
More like friends with Kinsley, Osley, and Leary.
Why the unseemly haste? Aren’t our presidential election campaigns long enough for you yet?
Yeah procrastination worked really well last time......;o)
Didn’t Willie Norton play for the Dodgers?
