(Mike Huckabee's) Statement Regarding Washington State Slayings
mikehuckabee.com ^ | 11-29-2009 | Mike Huckabee

Posted on 11/29/2009 8:59:16 PM PST by Gordon Greene

"The senseless and savage execution of police officers in Washington State has saddened the nation, and early reports indicate that a person of interest is a repeat offender who once lived in Arkansas and was wanted on outstanding warrants here and Washington State. The murder of any individual is profound tragedy, but the murder of a police officer is the worst of all murders in that it is an assault on every citizen and the laws we live within.

Should he be found to be responsible for this horrible tragedy, it will be the result of a series of failures in the criminal justice system in both Arkansas and Washington State. He was recommended for and received a commutation of his original sentence from 1990, making him parole eligible and was paroled by the parole board once they determined he met the conditions at that time. He was arrested later for parole violation and taken back to prison to serve his full term, but prosecutors dropped the charges that would have held him. It appears that he has continued to have a string of criminal and psychotic behavior but was not kept incarcerated by either state. This is a horrible and tragic event and if found and convicted the offender should be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. Our thoughts and prayers are and should be with the families of those honorable, brave, and heroic police officers."

Interesting! I’d presumed Sarah didn’t have a Huck problem on the basis that I’d heard nothing on the subject and that the left surely would have yelped had there been anything they could distort into an issue. There was nothing on this in her book. I hadn’t realized she’d actually taken action to avoid the problem in her own and even future administrations. She keeps looking better! I hope the left misses this in their research and she clubs them with it.

Huck still doesn’t get it. He issues no apology. In fact, he’s holding out hope that the police are looking for the wrong guy when he says SHOULD *HE* BE FOUND TO BE RESPONSIBLE. What Huck doesn’t understand or want to admit is that his decision was dead wrong either way. There was no reason to release the guy from prison, but he did anyway. Right now it looks like the police are confident this is the guy. I’m watching KONG-TV from Seattle on Northwest Cable News. They’ve got the guy’s neighborhood sealed off. They think he’s still in the area.

Is the person of interest a Muslim, and since all of the police officers who were killed where white and the man who shot them was black, will this be classified as a hate crime also ? Remember Fort Hood.

We check the sex offender registry in my household often. It is beyond frightening to see how many live within 1 mile of elementary schools.

Of course, in many jurisdictions, this includes those who have conducted a consentual transaction with an adult.

Your graphic needs to be posted on EVERY thread dealing with this Huckabee caused killing.

I'm sick of the grandiosity of politicians who "give" forgiveness to monsters.

If anyone wants my vote, change the laws so more monsters can be put to death within a reasonable time. Any criminal given clemency by a governor should get to spend his first 6 months living in the governors mansion. ( no guards allowed.) Let's see how "forgiving " these God-wannabees are when THEY have to live with the jerks.

Look at t he map in reply #5. Huck wasn't granting a few - he was dumping the shit out on the streets in record numbers.

If a governor lets 50 people out a year - after close study - I wouldn't hold a mistake against him. But Huckabee was throwing the doors open - playing God... Huck showed NO RESPECT for the people of his state who put the monsters behind bars in the first place.

Sorry Huck, we need to make an example out of you because WE THE CITIZENS are sick of violent criminals being dumped on us.

Fox News Channel should FIRE Huckabee’s ass ASAP.

It would takes brass ones to walk out in front of a studio audience after this 'incident' becomes widespread public knowledge...

FYI-—This is not exactly on point but I think it’s safe to say Sarah doesn’t have a Huck problem.

Not concerned about that Thanksgiving turkey she pardoned going after someone? ;-)

Looks like we can write him off, never did understand people’s fascination with him anyway.

Maybe the rat party will pick him up in the off season.

The dirtbags at the GOP need to look at the dirtbags they have thrown at us the last election and figure why we are not sending them money....and why we lost to a muslim...
McLame, Huckabee, Guilliani, Romney....

AND why did the press ignored stellar candidates like DUNCAN HUNTER and FRED THOMPSON and their conservative message?

We are in a sad state of affairs now because of this....see my tagline.
