The man wanted in this morning's shooting deaths of four Washington State police officers was granted clemency by then-Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee nine years ago.

In terms of releasing violent felons who then went on to commit serious crimes, Huckabee is Dukakis cubed. Dukakis’s only major mistake was releasing Willie Horton, who went on to rape another woman and knife her fiance. Huckabee’s parolees have committed multiple murders on top of rapes.

Not enough distance. The guy was serving a 104-year sentence with NO parole. Huckleberry commuted it to 47 years and made him eligible for parole. In other words, The Huckster did DIRECTLY set the stage for this scumbag to get out of prison, then rape a child, assault another cop and kill four more on top of it. Quite a record and one Huckleberry will NEVER live down.

The American Spectator published multiple stories about Huckabee, including an irate attack from Quin Hillyer charging that "no amount of stagecraft featuring backlit crosses and folksy aphorisms should hide Huckabee’s culpability for such horrendous judgment.”
