All the approved leaks are coming out of the White House now in anticipation of the 0 speech at West Point. It's interesting how all the stories focus on the troop increase, yet we all know that his speech will not just be to announce a troop increase. He'll have to throw some meat to his far-left base, and that means announcing some sort of "exit strategy" guaranteed to insure confusion and cross-purposes, if not outright defeat. Curious how that aspect of the speech is not part of these approved leaks, making me think that what he's going to announce is going to be some sort of indensible and humiliating surrender.

I was hoping they were to arrest him for being a carpet bagger from Mbassa Kenya.

I would guess something akin to the New York trial announcement. Perhaps wild and crazy enough to get the trial off the front page.

Does this make Obama a "Chickenhawk"? Yes. Of course it does. Will Obama be called a "Chickenhawk". No, of course he won't.
Incidentally, Biden received several Vietnam deferments, just like Cheney. Will the NY Times point that out?

‘announcing some sort of “exit strategy” guaranteed to insure confusion and cross-purposes,’
I would hope there would be a ‘exit strategy’ at some point. We currently have 68K troops in Afghanistan, and that does not includes PMC’s.
Now we are gonna add 30-35K more, bringing over 100k troops in Afghanistan. Joy.
I hope thats ‘enough’ to fininsh the ‘job’; which of course, won’t happen.

9,000 fewer armed, trained patriots on US soil.
Obama is scared crapless of what's in store for him.
Nobody fears a coup the way a coup leader does.

The marines are supposed to be a sea-based force for quick insertion and capture of enemy land.
They are not meant to be a permanent land army fighting inland (as in Korea and Vietnam).
That’s the army’s job.
But—the problem is our army has shrunk so much that it can’t do its task and be everywhere (Bosnia, Iraq, Korea, etc.) all at the same time.
To: freema
First to fight for Right and Freedom...Semper Fi and God speed..you will be joining 10,000 of your fellow brothers already there. Thinking about all their families now too while they get ready to deploy because it ain’t no picnic the area they are going to and some will not be coming back. The price we have always paid for freedom. 9,000 may not sound like many but Marines know what Non Multa Sed Multum means.

I see nobody has learned a thing from such failures as Korea or Nam.
More American blood for nothing.
No plan, no brain at work, just send troops to advise, train and pacify those “Bad Attitudes” among the populace.
I wonder what monster will be found beyond those border for the Neo Rome to attack next?
