Why tea party patriots should support Sarah Palin should she decide to run
11/28/2009 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 11/28/2009 12:28:57 PM PST by Jim Robinson

She's a God, Country, Family, small government, no nonsense traditional Christian conservative. She's an outsider not corrupted by business as usual Washington politics. They hate her. She's pro defense. An army mom. She's pro-gun. Hunts, fishes and enjoys the great outdoors. She eats corrupt office holders and wasteful spenders for lunch. She drills for oil. She's a fighter. A winner!

She's the exact opposite to Obama in all respects. She's an American patriot!

In short, she's exactly what we the grassroots tea party patriots are looking for.

If a DeMint sort is willing to have the humility to realize that he needs the speaking savvy that a Sarah Palin team could bestow upon him, he would be OK too. It seems difficult to find today, outside of Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann, any prominent GOP politician who can both speak well and who cares about virtually all the conservative issues. Some come close but have troubling gaps, such as Jindal and Barbour.

If you read her book (I have) you’ll understand that she and her family are full free-market capitalists and have been all their lives.

If not Palin, it would have to be a pretty darned good conservative Republican. Right now, with the information I have, and with the candidates that people are saying might run, I like Palin best of the lot.

Is it true I just heard that Ron Paul was a big part in starting the Tea Party movement?

Is it true that you heard that? We don't know. We weren't there when you heard it, were we?

As to whether what you heard is true or not, it is NOT true.

Even if it were - so what? And what does it have to do with Sarah Palin? Or Mitt Romney, since that's who you really want to talk about. Right?!

If you read her book (I have) you’ll understand that she and her family are full free-market capitalists and have been all their lives.

George Bush said HE was a capitalist, too.

If she didn't understand that bailing out the banksters - rewarding failure - was incompatible with free markets, then she isn't a free market capitalist.

In the Walters interview she said "we learn from our mistakes". Fair enough. Perhaps the fact that she didn't understand that supporting the bailout was anti free market is forgivable. Not everyone understands economics to the degree necessary to get this... although she should have. But evidently even her gut didn't tell her either. That makes her kinda scary. IS she free market, or is she just interested in power?

I haven't ruled her out... but she still has much to show me. I won't be fooled again.

Let's invite her as a headliner at the 2nd Annual Free Republic National Tea Party Convention.

Ok, What in heaven’s name do you want from this woman? She has said it was a mistake, she has said she would not support it in the future and when she was Governor of Alaska she turned down stimulus money. She couldn’t come tight out and say “John Mccain’s stimulus bill stinks, and he’s a moron, but vote for him anyway, ‘cuz he’s less of a screw-up then Barry is.” Not because of power as you suggest, but maybe because she wanted Mccain to win to help ensure we win in Iraq/Afghanistan.

You can always vote for yourself since I doubt you’ll find anyone else that do and say everything EXACTLY as you would like them to do.

Definitely with you Jim. I have never made any political donation, since I’d rather give my money to further the Church rather than politics; I may change my mind for Sarah.

I think her support of the bankster bailout is going to be a political problem. Maybe I'm wrong. It is for me though.

No congressional vote in my lifetime shook me like that one did. The tea parties are a direct consequence of that vote.

Tea Party Patriots is in part of the title and many of the first members of the Tea Party are from Ron Paul group...

I am sure they welcome Palin too!

I'm glad you support Sarah, JR. I was just reading another thread where some posters are calling for a purge of those who don't agree with them, and they are calling for a third party. A third party is an easy way for conservatives to lose elections, and now more than ever we should work together as a unified force to support conservatives in 2010 for the House and Senate, so we can stop the damage Obama and his administration is inflicting on the country.

I was getting a little worried about my support for Sarah here on FR, but I feel at home now knowing that you support her as well. Thank you.

So long as she doesn’t make the mistake of splitting the vote running under a third party, she has my support.

Unless something changes for the worse, I can’t see true conservatives voting for anybody but Sarah Palin. She’s bright, honest, candid, telegenic, and shares our values.

Sarah is a conservative and a Republican. She will never split the vote, she is working to reform the GOP from within.
