Why tea party patriots should support Sarah Palin should she decide to run
11/28/2009 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 11/28/2009 12:28:57 PM PST by Jim Robinson

She's a God, Country, Family, small government, no nonsense traditional Christian conservative. She's an outsider not corrupted by business as usual Washington politics. They hate her. She's pro defense. An army mom. She's pro-gun. Hunts, fishes and enjoys the great outdoors. She eats corrupt office holders and wasteful spenders for lunch. She drills for oil. She's a fighter. A winner!

She's the exact opposite to Obama in all respects. She's an American patriot!

In short, she's exactly what we the grassroots tea party patriots are looking for.

Third Party voters enable Democrat victories.

We are at war and if the likes of Ron Paul who wants the troops home now have their way, 9/11 and Ft. Hood is
the tip of the iceberg which we will face in our streets and cities.

What does Ron Paul have to do with any of this?

We have been voting for DEMS and GOP and look where we are?

George Bush and the GOP are the reason we are here today. If it weren’t for the idiots in the GOP - Obama would have never happened.

EVERY SINGLE TIME THE GOP HAS THE MAJORITY THEY HAVE SCREWED IT UP (post-Reagan). Why do you want to continue this? What exactly is going to change in the GOP? NOTHING...because special interest owns them.

Look at Michael Steele...he was pretty good as a pundit but now he is an idiot. Look at Newt Gingrich...I used to support him as well...now...he too has suffered idiocy.

The 23rd showed exactly why the GOP is not the answer. If they had supported Hoffman from the beginning and let him actually run a campaign he would have won...but they didn’t.

Look at the Stupak amendment it was the idiot GOP that supported it which in turn allowed the moderal DEMS pass the healthcare bill in the HOUSE...once again the GOP HAS SCREWED US.

I WILL NEVER SUPPORT ANOTHER DEM OR GOP CANDIDATE. For some reason you think supporting the GOP will somehow change what is happening here...HOW? WHAT WILL CHANGE?

Bush had Bin Laden...HE LET THE BASTARD GO!!! Bush could have fixed CRA...BUT HE SUPERCHARGED IT!!! Pop goes the bubble...he could have let the banks fail...BUT HE DIDN’T...in fact he said the stupidest thing any President has ever said...I had to abandon the free market principles in order to save the free market.

GIVE ME A BREAK...go ahead and support the GOP you are only prolong exactly what is going on today. If we continue to support the DEMS or GOP we will most definitely end up in civil war...breaking the two party system is the ONLY WAY to avoid it.

If you think you are actually going to change the GOP you are only fooling yourself. You might change it for one election but as soon as they get to DC and have to tow the GOP line WE ARE DONE.

Even the president is tied up in this manner?

Remember just a couple of years ago Obama was not even known...in the next year we can leverage the opportunity here and get people elected that are really interested in supporting the Constitution and not just some people that are willing to lie to us, use the GOP banner, scare you with the thought that you can’t possibly win because everyone knows a 3rd party can’t win...just to screw us all over once they get in.

Continuing to support the two-party system only continues this disaster. Let’s fix it for our children’s sake.

Yes, Obama was unknown before 2004, but he had large parts of the RAT party on his side in the primary, and the whole RAT/MSM machine behind him in the general.

Do you have billions of dollars and several media networks at your disposal to build third party support from scratch?

If not we need something more concrete to work with - like an existing GOP framework. Otherwise, we cede control back to the Communist RATS and choose the quicker form of (as you termed it) suicide.

Why do you believe that? What exactly is the GOP framework? How is getting a bunch of people in the GOP that essentially are going to be neutured by that very framework you think is so important?

That framework is the puppet strings controlled by special interest.

The problem is the two-party system and until we fix it...we never make any real progress. YOUR PROOF IS WHERE WE ARE TODAY. You support the GOP then you are inviting civil war into this country because that is where this is going to end up - the problem is the two-party system, it is non-representative and the people are just not going to take anymore.

You are drinking the kool-aid of...you can’t possibly succeed with a 3rd party...I like to think of it...you can’t possibly succeed by supporting the two party system we already know it doesn’t work.

Do you just want to try just one more time because somehow the wonderful GOP framework will magically change?

You are either dreaming or just plain scared to actually try to fix the problem.

Since you lost the argument you have to resort to personal attacks. Nice and adult like.

Since you support Palin you have to know the GOP will NEVER nominate her for the ticket...so not only have you lost the argument here you are politicking to ultimately screw over Palin to. You are just batting 1000 aren’t you?

Palin is the answer and she will run as a 3rd party if she runs.

I'm sure with Sarah, ever since she was Governor of Alaska and the nationals never heard of her.

Told my family that Biden would be picked for dims (only one who would accept it) and my dream would be Sarah Palin.

P.S. Great write-up Jim.

If Palin focuses on Iowa, skips NHampshire (like Thompson and Huckabee in ‘08) and heads toward Super Tuesday states, it will leave us hanging in New England.

Are we to skip the NHampshire primary, too? Somebody will have to beat Romney in NH ... and we cannot wait around for a candidate that doesn’t show.

Skipping states is for losers. I hope Palin takes on the Granite State.

When I speak of the GOP framework, I speak of the money, media attention, network structure, and most importantly, of the many voters (some of whom are moderate RINO-types) who make up the block that currently tends to vote Republican. This is important for the same reason that keeping the 'blue dog' type Democrats on board is important for the 'rats - we usually need the votes to make a majority. In other countries, political coalitions are built of many parties in a legislative body - in our system, we build our coalitions first, which usually embodies itself as two parties.

You mentioned above that your sole special interest is the Constitution. Good in theory - I really do like it. What I will say will probably offend you, but I'm being a realist. That is, it's bad in practice - people don't work that way. Just get over it.

It's not about 'drinking the kool-aid.' To win as a third party on a national level, you either need lots of money and support (Not there in the current climate) or a vacuum created by the dissolution of one of the two existing "coalition" parties (as what happened when the Republicans, a 'third party' filled the vacuum in 1860 that the dissolution of the Whig party created several years before). As it is, we have neither. We are forced to work in a broken system.

Until you can demonstrate something that is concrete, it is YOU who are either dreaming or are too afraid to do what is hard - reforming from within.

Sarah 2012

Of all the issues to constipate over, this shouldn’t be it.

You couldn't be more wrong. Of all the issues this is the one to be MOST concerned about. Ignore this and we risk another administration with a Goldman Sachs controlled treasury and a continuation of a policy of monetary debasement in support of excessive government spending.

Above all else we need fundamental reform of our monetary and financial system. Is she for it, or agin' it? Who will be her financial and economic advisors? That's all I want to know.

Is she gonna be a big government Wall Street puppet, as were the two Bushes, or an independent agent, as was Reagan?

I like a lot of what I hear from Sarah Palin, but the answer to this important question is still unanswered as far as I'm concerned.

What part of "running mate" do you not understand? As the vice-presidential candidate she had to support McCain's decisions. She doesn't support the bailouts now and admitted the 1st one was a huge mistake.

I understand and appreciate that. But that isn't enough. There are others who supported the 1st bailout and haven't supported the others and who I nevertheless don't want anywhere near the Presidency because I don't see them as trustworthy on the monetary issues. Boehner and Cantor come to mind.

Look, I think she has the time to be able to shore up her support on the libertarian right, assuming she wants to do so. (At least among those of us who are going to be willing to consider a GOP candidate in 2012.) I'm just saying she still has some work to do. She's not going to be an ideal candidate to the libertarian right, but if she's right on the most fundamental economic issues, she'll be acceptable, just as Reagan was.

Whether she will need the libertarian right in 2012 is anyone's guess. The world can change drastically between now and then, but as it stands now it would be a strategic mistake for her to ignore the importance of the monetary issue, which is THE primary issue to many of us who will be considering voting for her in 2012.

Just my opinion, but she still has work to do. And hearing this now from people like me might be the best thing for her campaign in the long run.

Fantastic take on Sarah Palin Jim, and I totally agree.

I think its important to remember that Sarah Palin circa 2008 has morphed into the new Sarah of 2010 and she has learned enormously from the non stop constant attacks by the DBM/DNC she has endured since she came into the limelight.

As a free market Ronald Reagan conservative she is a natural enemy of the DBM.

If we don't support her with all we have it will be a sad time for the country. We have to continue to encourage the RNC as we have been, by funding directly conservative candidates and encouraging the RNC not to support, advocate, or fund the rinos.
