When 0bama gets to Copenhagen I hope he has an Olympics moment.

Ditto.....

.....Remember Obama wasn't even going to go to Copenhagen.

Now that the CRU emails have been released by a hacker and they say they destroyed the raw data on which the AGW "theory" (I say scam) was created, Obama is attending Copenhagen to twist any arms that might waver from the agenda.

Here's hoping the Olympic moment is a stunner. I think the Copenhagen summit might get very interesting. Some countries previously on-board may very well raise a stink in front of the world. Or so I can hope (Can't I)?

The problem is that they are spinning this to say ‘it’s only a ‘small group’ of scientists’- They’ll throw this ‘small group’ to the wolves, and that will be the end of it, and the global warmign scam will go on unabated, uncontested (mainly because the remaining ‘researchers’ will go on as usual, making claims that are NOT proven, and the MSM will NOT quesiton them on it)

They are setting hte stage by claiming it was onyl a ‘small group’ who apparently ‘went rogue’ while the other ‘researcher’s backs were turned’- but the plain FACT of the matter is that they are ALL in on the gig, but yet they are playing innocent, pretendign they aren’t a part of the scandal.

Scientists from the IPCC who were ostracised for speaking out have been tryign to wasrn us for years that global wamring alarmism is a scam, but their voices were hushed up by the maisntream media, and when they did get to state their views, they were immediately intimidated, villified, and ridiculed- called the inflamatory and wholly unwarrented name of ‘deniers’, and portrayed as anti-science- The alarmists know no other way of dealign with the truth than to attack those who brign hte truth to the table (we see that a lot here on FR even as folks who bring evidence that refutes Macroevolution, are immediately attacked and ridiculed, instead of the evidences confronted themselves)

Jones is indeed a fraud, but so are the rest of the alarmists who are perpetrating htis collosal fraud while pretendign they are innocent of charges. We’ve known for a long time now that CO2 does NOT cause global warming- that CO2 rises ONLY AFTER cyclical warming periods happen (this is proven by ice-core CO2 readings which appear higher AFTER cyclical warmign periods take place- long after infact- thus disprovign the alarmist claim that CO2 raises temperatures). We also know that temperatures rise when sun spots appear and grow- and decrease when they dissappear- which is EXACTLY what has been happening, and which is EXACTLY what ALL climate alarmists have been hiding fro meveryone

That's my sense of it, too. The timing cannot possibly be a coincidence.

I'm right with ya all the way, SS.

Here he discovers that the data bases are compromised to the point they have no idea where the stations are located. So the solution is to make up WMO codes, or when there is not a match for a station just turn it into a new station. The result in his words is "In other words, what CRU usually do. It will allow bad databases to pass unnoticed, and good databases to become bad, but I really don't think people care enough to fix 'em, and it's the main reason the project is nearly a year late."

So what does this mean? Are you referring to weather stations where temperatures are taken?

Thanks for posting the link! I first heard a snippet on Rush a few days ago but couldn’t find it online. Ha ha, it’s a keeper :-)

Mark Steyn’s version has at least not been overused to death, but I don’t think it captures the essence of the issue.

Great point

Thanks, and notice that now, since so much time has passed since malaria again became a major problem, people don't remember so clearly that it was on its way to eradication and just assume that it's a disease one gets in tropical places, though it's still a problem in Siberia, and used to be here.

What they don't see is how different things would be in those many places around the world where billions of man hours of constructive work have been wasted due to malaria and millions of lives have been lost. Another scourge that has been eradicated in many places is the Guinea worm. It would affect people the most at planting and harvest times, incapacitating them from productive labor. The same can also be said about diarrhea from unsanitary water. These simple things could be dealt with for a fraction of the loot such eco-crooks as Algore and the rest hope to get from cap and trade schemes and vastly improve the lives of billions around the world.

The dirty secret is that such greenie folks have no intention on helping to improve the quality of third world lives. Rising numbers of people in increasing health and vigor in these places from which many resources for high tech Western civilization come would result in an even greater demand by "the natives" for such things as clean power and a lifestyle like the West.

The zero-sum genocidal green maniacs believe there's not enough to go around and, so, decide to limit these places to "sustainable development," meaning, "keep their population and their demands low so that we in the West don't suffer as resources run out." It's Ruckelshaus, Ehrlich, Gore, and the rest of that bunch who should be put on trial in the Hague for crimes against humanity, not our soldiers for doing their duty in a time of war.

Given the amount of money involved world wide how wouldn't this perhaps be considered the biggest scandal in the last millennium or more? This even exceeds the UN food for oil corruption and scams.

Two more examples of bad science on a smaller scale:

“Recovered Memories”

“Shaken Baby Syndrome*”

“Science” that was used to imprison many people. Turned out to be fraudulent. Oops! And it looks like the whole field of bite mark forensics was probably mumbo-jumbo also.

*Don't shake babies! But the test the “experts” were using to “prove” babies were shaken, turned out to be unreliable.

We actually live in a dark age and are more gullible than our ancestors.

Do you want to offer a quick phrase capturing the essence of the issue?

"AGW: Forging a Consensus" kinda says it, but requires several explanatory footnotes. Not quite bumper-sticker-ready.

I just wish there were a reasonable substitute for the everlasting “Whatever-gate.” As used, the suffix will lead future students to conclude that the original, Nixon-era, scandal was about water.

not sure what you’re getting at? Perhaps a dig at my spelling? If so- don’t bother- I don’t care what my spelling looksl ike- content is more important than the superficial looks- if it;’s about the fact that CO2 rises AFTER warming happens- this has been documented- thus, again, disproving hte claim that CO2 raises temperatures

How about making a little joke, after all Gorebalism is a joke too. Go look at the thread I linked, chuckle, smile a bit and have a good day...
