I remember a Thanksgiving dinner or two onboard Nimitz in the Med. They put on quite a feast for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Hope it is still the same.

The Navy always puts on a good spread for the major holidays, especially on the big deck ships. I only have that as a reference. I see it looks better than it used to, but we were always fed well, except for midrats.

A real man, unless our Baby-in-Chief.
If I were elected, I would most certainly spend time overseas during holidays.

That boat has got to be in awful shape by now It is ancientHey,c'mon. Why I remember many Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners on board Nimitz.
If Nimitz is ancient then what am I...er,never mind.
Actually I served aboard Nimitz from '79 to '83,as well as seven other carriers going back to the Fifties...so I guess I qualify as "ancient" too. Just remember ships can age well as also people can They both just need some time in the yards for overhaul and re-fitting from time to time.
FWIW I just had a refit in the form of a triple by-pass,so I'm good for a few more tours...just like the Nimitz!

Gen. Petraeus is truly a leader that this country would gravitate to in 2012 to run against Bama.

Gen. Petraeus is truly a leader that this country would gravitate to in 2012 to run against Bama.
I do not know his politics. But he has always been my first choice to lead the country though an emergency period -- such as a Constitutional crisis caused by revelations about the Kenyan Usurper's true origins. It is not inconceivable that we could go through a situation where ordinary rules of presidential of secession won't be practical. I that happens, I'd like to see Petraeus step in and take charge.
