WINDERMERE, Fla. -- Golfer Tiger Woods was seriously injured when he hit a fire hydrant and then a tree outside of his Isleworth home early on Friday morning, officials said.
The Florida Highway Patrol said Woods was seriously injured and taken to Health Central Hospital. The Orange County Fire Department confirmed that a patient was taken to Health Central, but would not confirm that the patient was Woods.
Woods was driving a 2009 black Escalade, FHP said. He hit a fire hydrant outside of his home and a tree outside his neighbor's home.
FHP said the crash is still under investigation.
Update: Authorities: Tiger Woods hurt in Fla. car crash
I think that seems like a plausible beginning of this story, but not the complete picture yet. It doesn’t account for why, when police arrived, Woods was laying on the ground (his wife hovering over him) and slipping in and out of consciousness. I’d assume he must have exited the car under his own power, because I don’t think his wife could’ve drug him out on her own. I might guess she hit him in the head with the golf club, which would account for him laying on the ground, as well as being semi-conscious. Then again, none of the reports mention him having a head injury, only the lacerations on his face (presumably from wife scratches). I think there’s more yet to be revealed, and there might still be some law enforcement concealment going on. The earliest reports from the hospital said Woods was in serious condition, which wouldn’t make sense with only nail scratches on his face. But, it would make more sense if he had been struck in the head with a golf club. It’ll be interesting to see where this all goes.
This is why it seems very strange to me that the hospital released him and never kept him overnight for observation.
I was referring to the size of the house compared to the Two Americas John Edwards Mansion.
Im sure Garth is a nice fellow.
Yeah..., for sure...
I have no idea about Garth Brooks' politics, but yes.., I do hear he's a nice guy.
Don't you know that in every newer car the doors automatically lock when you turn on the ignition. I hate it for that very reason. If in an accident no one can open the doors.
That's brilliant!! < :D
Poem should go into FR's Hall of Fame.
It looks like the house is sitting down in some kind of dirt pit. Also those white objects in the upper right look like bee hives. Are they?
It's not really, from what I know today. This is a construction photo, taken many years ago. I don't know if there is an up-to-date photo. So, nothing has been landscaped or fixed up. The house (near as I can figure) sits relatively close to a ridge overlooking an area out to the east, over Keetonville Rd., in Keetonville, Oklahoma.
You can see the road/driveway has not even been put in yet in that circular drive on the opposite side of the house from the swimming pool. The window areas don't even look like they have glass in them yet (at least to me). And the white objects are probably construction-related materials.
Even though the basic frame and outline of the house is there and the roof is on, I'm not sure (at this stage) that they've even got the inside walls up and/or sheetrock on. It's very basic at this stage.
This photo was from a local who flew over the area as construction was being done.
Maybe he has a job delivering morning papers to make a bit of extra money.
Just sayin ...
Maybe he has a job delivering morning papers to make a bit of extra money.
Yeah..., and he's doing it in the helicopter that flies in to his house all the time... LOL ...
Since you posted this at #532, No. #551 couldn't have happened yet. LOL! :-)
BS. I don’t support anything about Obama, and neither do 99% of the folks on this forum. Don’t try and paint me as some liberal just because I think that Zoeller is a jerk.
So Woods went to the inauguration. BFD.
Zoeller is still a tool.
RE: “Think about this.
What kind of moron makes a joke about fried chicken and collard greens regarding a black man - and does it in front of international media?
A jerk is a jerk. Zoeller has a history of being a massive one.”
****************
Do you know Zoeller? Do you know Woods? My knows (and has played golf with Fuzzy) at Riviera in L.A. numerous times and says that no, he is not a ‘genius’ but that he is a nice guy, a fun loving guy and known to be a jokester. He is not mean-spirited in the least.
I have seen Woods in action more times than I can possibly count, having witnessed his antics at numerous tourneys around CA. Unless he is winning and has a BIG lead, he is always, always profane, rude, tosses clubs, screams at anyone who so much as sneezes, gives dirty looks to birds on the course for heaven’s sake.
If I had to pick one of those two for a night out, I’d choose Zoeller every time.
Oh, and by the way, Woods REALLY REALLY looks like he takes steroids, but that’s just what I see.
Tiger is my golf twin!!! I knew it!!!
RE: “If Fuzzy had made a crack about Lee Trevino serving Tacos, Bernard Langher serving schnitzel or Vijay serving fish and papayas, not a peep would have been heard.
Fuzzy was a big deal was a big deal because the media wanted a big deal.”

Absolutely correct!
If you look closely that is a common U with driveways, for both houses, coming off it and leading to garages for each house... looks like two vehicles in Tiger’s drive.
It does look like the hydrant should have been the second point of impact, should have got the tree first... unless he hit the hydrant and then went forward.
RE: “I think they argued, and he drove away to cool off. Yes, I believe it has something to do with the rumor.
When they married, I said the marriage would NOT work out. It has nothing to do with the color of their skin....not at all.”

Agree — this marriage won’t last much longer — count on it.
The fire hydrant and the tree is on the main street — which is the neighbor not on the common U but to the right of Tiger Woods’ house. Woods went clear out onto the street and down a little ways to the other neighbor’s house (not the one on the common U)...
Agree this marriage wont last much longer count on it.
Nah..., I think the Viking Kitty got the message across to Tiger... LOL ...
RE: “I agree with you. Seems like it was a domestic dispute and he was angrily backing out of the driveway as she beat the car with a golf club.”

These things happen all the time — a male friend of mine was in a relationship with a nut case who, when he was trying to leave the house during a fight, jumped on car hood, throwing a bottle of water at him thru the open car window. He had to stop (in driveway) to push her off the car’s hood.
Earlier on, in another fight, she threw a large toothpaste tube so hard it poked a hole in a hollow bathroom door. My friend referred to that EX-GF as “Fatal Attraction” woman. LOL

You’re right, looks like he would have had to turn to his left, while backing, to avoid the tree.... guess he got distracted. The fire hydrant would have been the second point of impact.
