WINDERMERE, Fla. -- Golfer Tiger Woods was seriously injured when he hit a fire hydrant and then a tree outside of his Isleworth home early on Friday morning, officials said.
The Florida Highway Patrol said Woods was seriously injured and taken to Health Central Hospital. The Orange County Fire Department confirmed that a patient was taken to Health Central, but would not confirm that the patient was Woods.
Woods was driving a 2009 black Escalade, FHP said. He hit a fire hydrant outside of his home and a tree outside his neighbor's home.
FHP said the crash is still under investigation.
Update: Authorities: Tiger Woods hurt in Fla. car crash
You can go to google maps and see his house.
No long driveway, at all ! — neighbors right on top of him. Waterfront gazillion dollar row houses. The only thing blocking the neighbors are trees, lots of trees.
My guess, he put the pedal to the medal and immediately slammed into whatever was in the way.
go here, his house in on the right:

Uh OH Again.
Tiger Woods Dubai Signs New Infrastructure Contract with Al Nasr
You are correct.
Thank you.
I walked right past a whole stack of those today, pausing briefly before moving on. I saved $448 today by not buying one.
“Whats this I hear? Is Billy Joel OK?”
ROTFL!
sounds like bill ayers.
would take a real sad sack to trade this for the scary looking skank ho.
2009 Escalade weighs 7,300 lbs. The hydrant would not be able to lift the entire SUV, you are right here. However each side of the car only handles half of the force - 3,650 lbf. This means that a hydrant could easily flip the car, or redirect it into, say, a tree.
Spelling? What are you talking about?
The “other woman”s photo was doctored. She is SHARP.
Billy Joel is semi-famous for late night auto accidents; hitting houses, trees, you name it, although he’s been a relatively good drive in the past several years (maybe he hired a full time chauffeur?)
His old lady could be a real b@ll buster. We just don’t know, do we?
You got that right.
Backgrounder on West Orange Hospital.
Horrible place. Had “doctor” pracicing there for 4 years. He, “Doctor” John Henry VanEden, never graduated from med school, or college, or even high school.
Hosp knew credentials were faked, but he was #1 admitter- profit center.
Not a level 1 or 2 trauma center. Good docs in Orlando area are all at Forida Hospital or ORHS (Orando Regional Healthcare System), not this place.
Ok for stitches, but nothing more.
The Escalade must not have been one of the older, bigger ones.
My driveway is 2.5 miles long. But at 6'8", I have stature. :-)
I just read an article detailing Toyota’s history of engines revving up out of control, with serious accidents resulting, even fatalities.
I wonder if that's what happened to Tiger as he was backing out of the driveway...and yes, I know Toyata does not make the Escalade.
The Woods’ have a two year old and a nine month old. He could have been going out for teething medicine, formular, diapers, baby tylenol or any other number of things daddies have to go out in the middle of the night for, because baby ain’t sleeping.
When I first read this I did not think of him has a golfer but as a husband and father....I pray he will recover to return to the business of being a husband and father....
Sportsmen are by definition very competitive, even aggressive people. Otherwise they'd never win anything. Nice guys finish last.
