Apparently there are still some posters on FR who are fast asleep. Wake up! Dammit! We are in the middle of a conservative rebellion! While you were sleeping we, along with millions of other freedom loving grassroots Americans have participated in hundreds of tea parties all across this great land and fully intend to keep it up until all of America is awake. We are fed up and mad as hell! We grassroots Americans are delivering a message to the ruling class: NO MORE!!
No more big government! No more high taxes! No more government bailouts! No more government takeovers! No government healthcare! No more corruption! No more global baloneyism!!
We're sick and tired of liberals and RINOs running roughshod over our God given Liberty!
We want our country back! We want our freedom back! We want it all back!!
No more socialism!!
Cut the taxes! Cut the spending! Cut the government!
Restore the constitutional limits on government! Restore our freedom!!
And not only no, but HELL NO to liberals and RINOS!!
Free Republic will not support RINOS!! Rudy McRomney, et al, can go straight to hell!!
The strategy is we win, they lose.
Any questions?
I think our FRiend Cedric may have just outed himself.
Got that Cedric?!
Superfluous.
So, we’re 820+ posts in, how about adding something of value, other than a rant-fest?
What are the principles of conservatism, as people in this thread see them? What are your non-negotiables? If we’re going to have a “conservative movement”, then best to define what makes a person conservative!
After all, we have some screaming for no compromise, yet Reagan was a proponent of compromise.
Some hold up Sarah Palin as the best example of conservatism today, and others here discount her because she “compromised” and ran with McCain.
Some tout Ron Paul as the ultimate example of conservatism, others mock him for his lack of common sense regarding national defense.
So if we cannot even agree on what defines a conservative, it’s kind of hard to establish a movement! So what are the main principles of conservatism?
I swear Cedric that you are working hard at getting banned.
*snicker*
Obviously you are a closet Obama Supporter working for Soros! No "True Conservative" would say such a thing!!!
(exit experimental GOP/Mitt hack mode)
Hey Ced and Buckie, is that how it goes?
I’ve read your posts on this thread and I agree with you about Rudy Guiliani/NY, some other States/areas.
My first ever vote was for Reagan and he wasn’t perfect, his wife wasn’t perfect, his kids weren’t perfect.
Reagan won 25 years ago. A lot has changed since then.
I hope not, the is the best bang for the entertainment buck you can get!
“Sadly morons are the least able to realize that...”
And the first to use the term against anyone they cannot dispute with an attending, reasonable argument.
I LOVE being called a moron by someone with no rational point to ponder. I win. They lose.
Right there, everything they said previously is moot, and everything after is just ridiculous.
You must not be able to read people’s posts very well, My guess is that you have not outed a lot of trolls in your time here. For a poster to try and get involved in a deep passionate way on a passionate subject here at FR and do that under a variety of names on the same threads is impossible. I don’t even know why you would try to sell such a UFO type idea.
Spend some time reading those two years worth of threads and see if you think you can spot such a poster, much less support your claim that it was and is, a half dozen people under hundreds of names.
If you find two names that you think are one person then read those freeper’s individual posting histories and see if you still think that.
It never hurts to post it in black and white as you never know who else is reading it. :-)
Sooner or later they ALWAYS let it slip.
I can understand why.
If elected President, my first official act would be to declare all Gum't associated unions as illegal RICO enterprises, and put people in jail for stealing from thye taxpayers. I might even declare ALL unions illegal... and let them fight from inside prisons!Your heart may be in the right place but the President has no such Constitutional authority to make it so by simple declaration. (If the executive order applied as a lawmaking tool was unconstitutional when wielded so promiscuously by Messrs. Clinton and Bush, and potentially by His Excellency Al-Hashish Field Marshmallow Dr. Barack Obama Dada, COD, RIP, LSMFT, Would-Be Life President of the Republic Formerly Known as the United States, and Chairman of the Organisation of Halfrican Unity, it's unconstitutional wielded by any President.) It would require legislation written and passed by Congress---though here is where you could make the recommendation, it being understood that merely because the President may recommend legislation under his formal Constitutional authority it does not follow that Congress is required to pass it. The Constitution did not grant the President any further lawmaking ground than that, any more than the Constitution declared the President to be the suprerogatory representative of "the people," contrary to what a few too many Presidents of any party or their sycophancies have deluded themselves into believing.
For myself, if this country were crazy enough to elect me, I'd recommend but one law: Resolved, that no legislation passed by Congress or signed by the President shall be considered legal and binding until or unless every member of Congress and the President can prove he or she has read it, in its entirety, at least once.
One thing we do need, and badly, is a President who is willing to tell Congress that he or she has no intention of signing any further new law but has every intention of vetoing any and every piece of legislation sent his way that is aimed at anything other than repealing law. James Bovard had it quite right in his splendid "feeling your pain": The Explosion and Abuse of Government Power in the Clinton-Gore Years when he wrote:
The vast majority of government agencies can neither be reinvented nor reformed. If Americans want good government, hundreds of failed government programs must be abolished and legions of laws that turn government into a public nuisance must be repealed. All other "reforms" will merely prolong the abuse of the American people. (Emphasis added.---BD.)
I've seen nothing among the prospective candidates just yet that suggests any of them has any such inclination. But there is still time enough between now and 2012 . . .
Losing is the new winning with a certain segment on FR. I don't get it.
You don't get it because you are still obsessed with party politics. Most conservatives would rather have an honest enemy in front of us than a treasonous "friend" beside or behind us. Dems are at least honest enough to claim their socialist agenda. Rinos on the other hand will say anything to get elected then work hand in hand with the Dems, e.g. Sens Snowe, Collins, McCain, et al, by "reaching across the aisle". Rinos...hooock...ptooie!!!
Then why were you drawing up hit lists of Freeper "trolls" last fall?
