Apparently there are still some posters on FR who are fast asleep. Wake up! Dammit! We are in the middle of a conservative rebellion! While you were sleeping we, along with millions of other freedom loving grassroots Americans have participated in hundreds of tea parties all across this great land and fully intend to keep it up until all of America is awake. We are fed up and mad as hell! We grassroots Americans are delivering a message to the ruling class: NO MORE!!
No more big government! No more high taxes! No more government bailouts! No more government takeovers! No government healthcare! No more corruption! No more global baloneyism!!
We're sick and tired of liberals and RINOs running roughshod over our God given Liberty!
We want our country back! We want our freedom back! We want it all back!!
No more socialism!!
Cut the taxes! Cut the spending! Cut the government!
Restore the constitutional limits on government! Restore our freedom!!
And not only no, but HELL NO to liberals and RINOS!!
Free Republic will not support RINOS!! Rudy McRomney, et al, can go straight to hell!!
The strategy is we win, they lose.
Any questions?

McCain would have accepted McChrystal’s ROE and done our military just as much harm.
McCain SUPPORTED closing Gitmo.
McCain cried croc tears for the poor, tortured detainees.
Give me a break.

One issue doesn’t make someone a good pick. McCain was no better than Obama.

Hello FRiend,
I am on the side of Reagan and, although I understand the frustration of many including Jim Robinson (to whom I am very grateful for FR), it is foolish to reject or eject every RINO.
In IL we are thrilled to have pro-life, pro-gun Democrats elected. You have to do the political calculus and elect who you can. While I am not crazy about Republicans in general, they pale in comparison to Democrats in terms of taxing and spending and regulating.
In a perfect world we wouldn’t have to debate the dumb ideas proffered by liberals and statists. Instead we have the best our Founders could offer. American government has grown larger/more invasive than even Hamilton could have imagined and we need coalitions to move our agenda forward and get back to the Constitution.
I love your idea on spending (I am for low taxes, but they’re a gimmick compared to spending) and think it could easily be sold to the American people as a fundamental political platform. It is simple, the math is easy (makes cheating more obvious) and you could convince a cabbage it would work.
If you were to couple spending control with school vouchers you’d see the end of the massive American state, naturally and without bloodshed (or too many tears).
In voting it comes down to supporting the lesser of two evils. No-votes/3rd party votes just elect their guy and I will tell you first hand Democrats do the math and they only care about winning. You can do a lot more with a majority and they know it.

Yeah, sending 40,000 additional troops 3 months ago would've done as much harm as Obama’s refusal to do so.
Sure.

But, make no mistake, there are Soros subversives posing as stalwart anti-RINOs, fomenting frustration and disillusionment, to abet Obamas reelection. This has got to be some sort of new low around here.
This is even worse than the compaint that conservatives "have had their foot on the neck of the GOP for too long."

There are many reasons to dislike John McCain and the vast majority of FReepers will agree with you. If it wasn't for his picking Palin as a running mate, McCain would have lost by an even greater margin.
Having said that, you shouldn't be running around damning McCain. After all, you defend and promote a POS like Ron Paul. At least McCain supports the US military. Ron Paul is a libertarian who voted against the 2002 Iraq war resolution and has continually opposed both the Iraq and Afghan wars. He opposed the Patriot Act, enhanced interrogation and wants to bring ALL American troops home. At the same time, Paul supports gays in the military. And Paul blames America for 911, NOT the terrorists!
You need to reevaluate your politics.

Judging from the sheer amount of trolls the Undead Threaders and I have seen saying the albatross line of FR killed my free speech, too many people completely FAIL the private property test. (A conservative plank by the way, Private property.. Which seems to be lacking among RINOs.)
Leftists are predictable in that when they lose, they cry, "UNFAIR!" which is clearly what I saw with the TOTALITARIANISM cry about FR.
WHAH! WHAH! UNFAIR! :-)
