Apparently there are still some posters on FR who are fast asleep. Wake up! Dammit! We are in the middle of a conservative rebellion! While you were sleeping we, along with millions of other freedom loving grassroots Americans have participated in hundreds of tea parties all across this great land and fully intend to keep it up until all of America is awake. We are fed up and mad as hell! We grassroots Americans are delivering a message to the ruling class: NO MORE!!
No more big government! No more high taxes! No more government bailouts! No more government takeovers! No government healthcare! No more corruption! No more global baloneyism!!
We're sick and tired of liberals and RINOs running roughshod over our God given Liberty!
We want our country back! We want our freedom back! We want it all back!!
No more socialism!!
Cut the taxes! Cut the spending! Cut the government!
Restore the constitutional limits on government! Restore our freedom!!
And not only no, but HELL NO to liberals and RINOS!!
Free Republic will not support RINOS!! Rudy McRomney, et al, can go straight to hell!!
The strategy is we win, they lose.
Any questions?
After the NY-23 debacle (well, even before), my advice to most folks is simple... give directly to the candidates you believe will share your values. If you give to the party, they may give money to candidates that are liberals and establishment flunkies and suck-ups (read: Mark Kirk of IL). To think they pissed away nearly $1 million to shore up that corpulent Socialist bitch in NY and used the money to ATTACK the Conservative in the race, Doug Hoffman, I considered a criminal abuse of contributors money. That lady ought to be sued for the money spent on her and returned to contributors.
Heh... I loved that movie. ;-D
Yeah, and so far, the DC nitwits don’t fear anything but running out of things to tax. We really need to get their attention. Whatever it takes.
For instance, what could we have done to stop the GOP chairpersons in NY-23 from picking Dede? How would we have stopped that and how will we stop any future rotten picks the GOP reps/chairmen make. Stuff like that...
Those are all good questions. And as you've pointed out another need that Jim should perhaps consider (although I don't see why any FReeper couldn't start a thread for maintaining a list of RINOs), this too is an idea that may have found its time.
Heretofore, FR has been a discussion forum. What you propose may take FR to another level. How can we activate a program of change ourselves that will be useful by the next election? Again, I'd suspect Jim, if he approves, would say 'It's your baby'...
One of my favorites but I only have it on tape.
I’m 35 and I haven’t even had children, yet. If I do, I’d be highly surprised if I live long enough to see any grandkids. My grandfather was 77 by the time his first and only grandson came along... me (that was his mama that would’ve been 114). Even having children young is not necessarily a guarantee. My father became a father with my older half-sis at 21. He’s 70 now and his two grandkids are in their early/mid teens. He may have a fairly decent shot at seeing g-grandchildren if he makes it another 15 years or so.
Uh, Andy McKenna?
The Townhalls and Tea Parties scared them but the memory is fading. There needs to be more. There is a piece of activism being planned because of this thread. We’re working on it.
When I had HBO in the ‘80s as a kid, they used to run it all the time, so I probably saw it over a dozen times after they first started showing it. Only downside now is that the graphics/special effects are badly dated... of course, back then they had to rely on better acting and scripts.
Well, in Kirk’s case, he was the one Michael “Spaghetti Spine” Steele was fawning over. McKenna is more an example of the horrific state of the IL GOP, infested with crooked Combiners, and keeping out or running out reformers.
Hubby’s Grandma got to play with her GGrandkids but she was in her 90’s. My Grandma helped me with my firstborn but died when he was 2. So the odds are against her.
of course, back then they had to rely on better acting and scripts.
And my daughter said "You mean Megan Fox wouldn't have made it"? lol
Boy, could you imagine the discussion if Granny lived in Illinois with McKenna running for Governor?
Well, I’ve gone as far as I can with putting up the Christmas village. It’s all here but the sheet used as the snow. So, I’ll wait until my wife gets home. She’s the keeper of the snow, doncha know...
Hmmm, that means I can enjoy my weekly bourbon... See ya later!
Thank you, now I understand.
You are welcome.
What’s a real shame is my father’s ex-wife was looking forward to her grandkids. She got to see the first one, a boy, but she died just 9 months later (at 52) and never got to see her granddaughter, born 9 months after her death. Ironically, her own mother was still alive, but I don’t know if she ever got to see her g-grandchildren.
I think the demonstrations need to be bigger and more vocal. Show them how many of us we can mobilize and then the unspoken threat is always there, in the background, that IF we so choose, we could really kink up the works in their little utopian agenda.
Threaten their paychecks and you will get their attention. Only problem is, they still have either $300 or $600 billion to play with and fall back on, should the right-wingers get ‘uppity’ and revolt. Plus, they can always print up more.
One way or another, we have to get the healthcare bs killed, and the cap and trade and illegal immigrant amnesty, also. Any one of those issues alone would destroy our economy completely and threaten us as a free nation, but all of them together spell utter DOOM.
I’ve said it before....if the enemies within leave us with nothing else to lose, they’ll find themselves up against a VERY dangerous enemy. They always do underestimate the will, resolve and strength of the American people.
Well, they looked like a computer game at the time. If they ever do a reissue of the movie, it would be nice if they could upgrade the special effects. As for Megan Fox, that’s one thing I miss about the ‘80s, attractive girls who didn’t deface themselves with tattooes.
