Got a good book to recommend? Say a 3rd gen language like C or better yet a 4th gen like Java? Thanks.

Python is a very interesting and accessible language.

Hmmm, all of the micro processors I know of (very few) have support for C and Java. Not all that familar with Python always thought it was a scripting language. Anyway, the problem is not so much the programming language but all the different chips and all the diferent means of programming those chips. A good general overview of the popular micro chips used in enbedded systems and how to program them would be nice.

I started doing that in late 2007 but hurricane Ike took all my chips, books and tons of other stuff away. Well I might still have a bread board or two here somewhere. lol
