I would support Rudy for Senate only if he promised to STAY THERE and go no farther.

Hows Rudy on RKBA? As I recall, not very much better than
Schumer. A sure vote for another AWB we don’t need.

Look at it this way, you’d have a sure vote for gun bans with Gillibrand who even now is sponsoring new gun control measures. At least with Rudy we might have a little leverage to change his vote on the few areas he needs improving on. We’d have none with that phony Gillibrand. I have a feeling his gun position was one taken as mayor of New York, one he’d not feel the need as Senator of the whole state to repeat, esp. with upstate being more conservative than NYC.

Given the choice between Rudy and Gillibrand? Definitely Rudy. If NY can find a conservative that could beat out Rudy and have a chance at beating Gillibrand then fine, but I’d like to see the poll numbers on “Conservative Candidate X vs. Gillibrand.” If it’s pretty clear that only Rudy has a chance then I think we’d be better off supporting him. Is there a conservative running in the primary?

I thought he did announce that he was running on Hannity’s radio program. He announced he was running for something.

I think the only conservatives you will find in NY are here on FR.

For a liberal state like NY, Rudy would be perfect. I wouldn’t want him as President (well, I would, compared to Obama), but for NY he is right.

The Dims are going to lose the Senate along with the House in 2010.

That’s what I’m thinking. I don’t want to take the Newt approach to it though. By all means lets run a conservative in the primaries and see what the voters think. I’m betting they pick Rudy. Rudy is surely the most beloved Republican in NY, and we could do a lot worse than him. I’d take Rudy over Pataki.

NY is gone as far as ever electing a conservative. So, I think Rudy is a great choice. He’s ok on many things. Even if he is pro-choice. He’s great on other issues. Yes, I thought he did announce he was running for the Senate.

Originally, he mentioned his thoughts about running for governor. But he recently announced his run for the Senate against Gillibrand.

I’d take Rudy over Pataki.

I agree! Wish he would have opted for the governor run - and trash that loser Cuomo w/his hopes as gov. The Kennedy mentality at work - he thinks he's entitled to be governor because his loser dad was.

The senate Dems losers for 2010, and I’m sure there are others I have left off the list that are vulnerable to defeat:

Gillibrand NY
Bennet CO
Reid NV
Boxer CA
Dodd Con
Kaufman DE
Hagen NC

McCain is in trouble too.
