Browner says hacked e-mails don't change anything

Stephen Dinan

Obama administration climate czar Carol Browner on Wednesday rejected claims that e-mails stolen from a British university show climate scientists trumped up global warming numbers, saying she considers the science settled.

"I'm sticking with the 2,500 scientists. These people have been studying this issue for a very long time and agree this problem is real," said Ms. Browner, who President Obama has tapped as his chief of policy on global warming.

The e-mails were hacked from the Climate Research Unit at the University of East Anglia and have come to light over the last week. They appear to show scientists saying they've smoothed over data that doesn't back up their claims of warming, and pondering how to freeze out scientists who disagree with them.

Release of the e-mails has fueled skeptics ahead of next month's major global warming meeting in Copenhagen, which is supposed to set the framework for a new global treaty to restrict greenhouse gas emissions.

The White House said Wednesday that Mr. Obama will personally travel to Copenhagen to commit the U.S. to greenhouse gas reductions.

2500 ‘scientists’ competing for grants who know which side

I guess science these days is like sausage. You don’t need to know how it’s made, and you don’t WANT to know. Just shut up, pay for it, and eat the result.

She will regret nothing at all. This is the former Clinton EPA person that wiped all the EPA computers clean and denied knowing they were under court subpeona. Browner is not your average American. She is a liberal elitist operative that considers everyone else stupid. She will walk off the plank with these global warming liars.

Comparing everything for the last 11 years to one abnormal peak in 1998 is not very good data-analysis technique. If you pick either the preceding or following year, you don’t see a cooling trend.

Always follow the money and you will have the answers.

From wikipedia :

After the Clinton Administration, Browner became a founding member of the Albright Group, a "global strategy group" headed by former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright.[29] As a Principal in that firm, Browner assists businesses and other organizations with the challenges of operating internationally, including the challenges of complying with environmental regulations and climate change. Coca-Cola and Merck have been among the clients for such international assistance.[13]

Her 2008 income was between $1 million and $5 million from lobbying firm Downey McGrath Group, where her husband is a principal.[42] She also reported $450,000 in "member distribution" income, plus retirement and other benefits from The Albright Group.[42]

Also from wikipedia under 'Albright Group':

The Albrigt Group (founder Madeline Albright) The firm assists businesses and other organizations with operating internationally, including the challenges of complying with environmental regulations and climate change. Coca-Cola and Merck have been among the clients for such assistance.[3]

--------------------------

So there you have it. Now you know where her money comes from.

So he’s sticking to the Scientists who were basing their discoveries off of numbers that were tampered with? Typical.

Ms. Browner said the only people who still doubt global warming is happening and that humans are to blame are "a very small group of people who continue to say this isn't a real problem, that we don't need to do anything."

The emails point out why the group who oppose this view is small. The reason is that they have been shut out of the process via peer-review.

If they acknowledge it they are admitting they are culpable as well. They will deny this all the way to jail.

Sub Driver, thanks for posting this.

I am currently reading a great book Chris Horner called Red Hot Lies

I can recommend this book to anyone except the disciples of the global warming religion...they won't get it. If you can, get it and read it. It helps to be armed with the facts in light of the emails that were hacked.

There is a quote by Upton Sinclair in the book that, to me, was the money quote: "It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it."

Keeping in mind how much money is tied up in Anthropogenic Global Warming for many of these scientists with grants and so on, that quote says it all.
