Schiff must be a libertarian. The libertarians posting on FR beat the same drum, the old Ross Perot “no difference between Dems and Repubs” line. I didn’t buy it when it came from Ross Perot, and I don’t buy it from Schiff. Third party divide and conquer. We don’t need third party, what we need is genuinely conservative Republicans.

I didnt buy it with Ross Perot, but I buy it now. Why? GB senior left us with a great chance which led to historical win in 1994. GW Bush and his republican majority left us with a huge disaster which was cheer-led by Rush, Hannity, Levin. They (not so much Rush) even joined the McCain campaign saying vote Republicans or die.

Schiff is running in Republican primary, but yes, he is a libertarian conservative, contrary to neocons that got us here.

Schiff is running as a Republican, and he’s been telling other proponents of small government not to run as third party, either, but to run as Republicans, like he is.

Why give up an ace before the dealing is even done and terribly weaken your position at the table?

Can't you see the static threat of a potential Conservative Alternative bolt--a virtual Sword of Damocles hanging over them--is what could and would keep the RINO leadership structure in the national and statewide GOPs in constant fear and trepidation? How else precisely are you going to easily arrive at your "Conservative GOP" that you talk about with the Party structure and media in the bag for RINOs against us?

Abandoning any and all options for 2012 immediately emboldens the RINOs who screw us EVERY FOUR YEARS and then ask US to get on board THEIR train.

Nope.

Not buyin that picnic basket o' crap in 2012.

We get the platform AND the candidate we want in 2012. Otherwise, no deal.

Only liberal Republicans do not want a Third Party. The biggest fear of Liberal Republicans is a conservative Third Party

Third Party?

Some of us would be happy if we could get up to a Two Party system.

Right now, it’s One and a half at best.
