Really?

Hoffman almost won. Scazzova[sp] was the joke and the Republicans shot themselves in the foot. Fortunately, they should be able to win with a conservative in 2010 which might have been difficult if Hoffman hadn’t shut out Scazzova.

Hoffman almost won

Owens did win, thanks to Hoffman. And the 3rd party loon Hoffman conceded and handed Owens the seat even before the votes were all counted.

No Newt,Dede and NY-23 GOP RINO party goons are the evil joke. Doug was just a small town local CPA who decided to run. He had no machine behind him. No money or party to cover and watch his back. He was one of us.

The GOP’s handling of this was disgusting. They should have quietly eased Dede out and told her to shut her fat mouth. They should have went to Doug and tell them that he had their full support. The RINOs and ACORN are at fault here not Doug Hoffman. Are you one of those pro-Newt stooges?

That joke forced the GOP candidate out of the race and came within a couple of percent of winning with another election on 11 months away.

No money or party to cover and watch his back.

No, Hoffman received and wasted hundreds of thousands of dollars, almost none of it from within the district he handed over to the Democrats.

Hoffman kept a very liberal Republican from becoming an incumbent in a Republican district. He performed a service. The “loons” were the Republican precinct people who picked Scazzova who was so liberal that Owens attacked her on how much money she intended to spend. If she was so great, why did she endorse Owens when she dropped out?

Gingrich admitted on camera that he had made a mistake by not backing Hoffman in the first place.

Hoffman would be at home at FR. Scazzova would be more comfortable at DU.

Well, that is one way for Hoffman to keep his name in the news.

He could always rescind his latest concession and then concede a third time next week.

How can someone who ‘claims’ brilliance, goofed on something that’s a no -brainer?

"How can someone who ‘claims’ brilliance, goofed on something that’s a no -brainer?"

I remain unconvinced that the mere fact that someone posted here that Hoffman "goofed" on a "no-brainer" makes it so. In fact, I'm less likely to even care what someone has to say if I become convinced that they are counted among the cannibal-variety Republican who pounces on any excuse to insult, assail and destroy fellow conservatives... just like any good little Daily Kos rump-puppet would.

IMHO.
