Thanks for the ping!
True, but Gov. Palin is not in uniform nor a member of the armed forces.
I guess freedom of speech and dissent being patriotic only applies to those who hate this country.
Yeah he apoligize to even people that are hostile to the US care to explain that US Army HMMMMM
How do they know her speech wouldn't be all about building morale and giving appreciation to all those in uniform who have sacrificed for the American people?
Then again, even that would make the Bill Ayer’s friend and follower look bad with the Troops who ALREADY have full knowledge that he could give a rat's behind about them.
“military is suppose to remain nonpolitical”
- Um..what? The military has leaned conservative since Reagan!
“What happened to FREEDOM OF SPEECH!”
- You don’t have such a thing in the military. The term “G.I.” means Government Issue. You belong to the government lock, stock and barrel the minute you are at MEPS and take that oath. Your rights as you’ve known them are severely altered.
And its a good thing that that is the case when dealing with national security.
Tell that to Mr. Photo Op Obama. His words not mine.
Of course she can’t speak.
She has a son serving our nation and she respects and loves our military.
She is not opposing our heroes by attacking/undermining/ their mission.
She is not a muslim whack JOB.
Absolutely do not let her speak.
My son was there in line, said the crowd was huge. Greta VanSusteran was there also. We’ll have to watch On the Record for the real story, I guess.
According to my son they all love Palin and most can’t stand obama although they can’t really say so.
He does have a bumper sticker tho, asking, “is it 2012 yet??”
But ... no photos, no personalized notes when she signs the books? What do they think she's going to write, "Vote for me"?
The Army looks like it's scared of retribution from Barack Obama.
I’m pretty sure the issue is not political from the installation’s point of view - it’s an issue of commercial solicitation, in that she’s there to make money. There are rules regarding access to a military installation for commercial purposes that have to be complied with. And it’s been long enough since I’ve had to do a legal review on such a request that I haven’t the foggiest what the standards are anymore.
Colonel, USAFR
Thank You !
It is not “their” house, it is our house. 1A should apply.
It is not “their” house, it is our house. 1A should apply.
That has been established.
Palin would not diss Obama if she spoke.
You assume and project that she would
Again it is NOT standard to not let anyone speak or have photos taken with them and military personel when they visit for what ever reason
It is not I assuming and/or projecting. It is a standard rule on a military base that no one criticize any CIC. Ft Bragg made that clear, as it has been made clear here at Ft.Sam, Randolph and Lackland. This is not new. Has always been. Always will be.
Obama must be so think skinned that he’s instructed the pentagon on how to make Palin behave on Army bases? What a bunch of children this crww is!
That is exactly what they were trying to avoid. But I know if I know one cannot come onto a military base and criticize the CIC...Sarah Palin knows that. I know she is too dignified and too respectful of these soldiers to criticize their CIC.
