Why Obamanomics Will Not Improve the Economy

The economic programs and policies currently in place are truly astounding. I don't think I have ever seen a more harmful economic environment for the country. While some of these programs started with Bush, the Obama Administration has advanced them to insane levels. Logic, economics, common sense and history must be defied to believe a recovery is possible in this environment. The nation's standard of living will be substantially lowered unless changes in policies are forthcoming.

To understand why this economy cannot recover under these policies, it is necessary to differentiate between the macroeconomic and microeconomic approach. Arguably, macroeconomics is not economics, but that topic cannot be fully explored today.

"If these disincentives are left in place, our economy will continue to shrink and our standard of living will continue to be diminished. Capital has no nationality and will start to flee our shores. Talent will follow. We will not recover from this economic downturn until businesses and individuals have a more favorable incentive structure.

It is unlikely that the Obama Administration will reverse course and put in place the structure necessary to foster a recovery."

You first need to understand that Obamanomics is not designed to help the economy but to destroy Capitalism and Free Enterprise. Only then does it make sense.

Paradoxically, a government cannot create jobs by attempting to create jobs. It can only create jobs by creating an environment where businesses can create jobs.

Energy - we needed an “all-of-the-above / made in America” energy policy enacted, not wasting time on this health care fiasco. We are on our way to $100 oil - that will kill the consumer and push us back into recession.

The Administration has failed and will continue to fail because they will only continue their Carteresque schemes. Or what, admit they were wrong and conservatives were right? Sure, there may be ocassional months in the next year or two where we see positive job growth, but that will only serve to reinforce and embolden their wrong actions.

The trend is for stagflation. Welcome to Carter 2.0. If you missed the first Carter Administration, perhaps you’ll enjoy the sequel. The only good thing Carter did was show us our need for a Reagan.

Clower-Piven - Overwhelm the system, destroy it, and build a truly socialist society.

This is scarier than the Cuban Missile Crisis, fallout shelters, etc., etc.

Recovery will happen. It’s just that the recovery will be nothing to envy. Unemployment will remain at higher than 9% for the remainder of the Obama Administration. The private sector will continue to contract, while the government sector continues to grow, and gives the illusion of prosperity.
