Weis' Irish Wake, Pt III: Huskies Halt Hapless Irish in Double OT 33-30
Fighting Irish Thomas ^ | 11-22-09 | Tom O'Toole

On yet another surreally beautiful November day in South Bend, the Notre Dame sliding Irish completed the hard-to-believe scene by falling to yet another inferior opponent at home, losing to Connecticut by the final score of 33-30. For although Senior Day had the senior captains coming out of the tunnel with arms interlocked with Charlie Weis' to show their unwavering support for their embattled coach, this embarrassing performance most certainly buried Charlie, and assured he would be exiting the campus with them, if not before. Still, if Saturday's loss meant Charlie would no longer be roaming the sidelines, it also showed that something of Weis would remain.

Why does the writer term UConn as an inferior opponent? I’m not sure there are many inferior to the Irish these days, and UConn definitely proved the writer incorrect.

Sweet! This is what that POS masquerading as a Priest Jenkins gets for worshipping the wrong messiah. May they lose every game until that place is purged of the CINOs, apostates and heretics and then returns to the faith.

What is all the hub-bub over Charlie Weis? He basically rode the coattails of Bill Parcells and Bill Belichick for the success he had in the NFL. Then he gets pegged to be the “Boy Wonder” of Notre Dame where he has had mixed success at best. Yet still Notre Dame saw fit to sign him to a 10-year $40m contract.

Because UCONN doesn’t have the name recognition, recruiting prowess, and money that Notre Shame has. Notre Dame has not gotten better under Charlie Weis. UCONN is also new to Div 1 FBS football. UCONN’s win at NOTRE LAME was a HUGE upset. IOW, it was a game that Notre Dame was EXPECTED to have won. NO if ands or buts.

Charlie is gone. ND was expected to be in a BCS bowl game this year and some even pegged them for the NC game.

Only Democrats and druggies. As if ND was going to get past Alabama, Ohio State and Boise State.

OK. I meant as if ND was going to beat those schools (which they didn’t play.) But you get my drift.

I’m a Cleveland fan.
Romeo and Charlie haven’t done much to improve the job prospects of the Belichick coaching tree.....

ND lost to Mich who wasn’t too competitive vs OSU.

Don't get me wrong, I live five miles from Ohio Stadium and I hate

Notre Dame can go to h*ll. Liberal fake Catholics and the liberal American Catholic church suck. The Pope needs to clean house.

ND where "schadenfreude" for football fans was invented. Only problem with your weaselly story is, ND is mediocre crapola and the Conn team was far their superior. Just because NBC has their noses up Notre Dame's buttcrack doesn't mean you have to pretend you are smelling roses too.
