Thanks. Done.
Thank you for that important resource, provided by Obama lol. I will put it to very good use, and pass it along.
Done. Good idea. I bet they will just love my letter. Heh heh heh.
What a great idea, Here’s what I sent them.
Healthcare Reform
For many elections the Democrats have said the Republicans will cut Medicare. Well look at which party is cutting Medicare and ruining the lives of millions of senior citizens- The Democrats are doing it with this Healthcare bill.
I started working when I was 13 and have paid taxes for all those years. Now I am 66 and start using Medicare, the Democrats are cutting the heart out of it. What’s fair about this to us seniors who have paid the taxes for so many of these congrescritters to get their “free” rides from daycare to college to law school to Congress?
Healthcare Reform should have been a piece of cake for all those smart folks with college degrees.
I would have just enlarged the Medicare program for any who aren’t able to work and pay for their own insurance.
Why not make a program better instead of tearing it down?
Spend the rest of that Stimulus $$ to enroll the needy into Medicare and to send students with good grades to medschool so we have enough doctors to treat them. Build more hospitals and put some folks to work in the construction field. It takes a genius to figure this out?
Well that’s my 2 cents worth.
No New Taxes!!!!!!!
That was fun, thanks. Here is what I sent: “There is one question I have not heard asked in the Healthcare debate. Why are we overhauling an entire system when 90% of the population already has coverage? The population of the United States was 304,059,724 as of July 2008, the number of uninsured has varied from 17 to 36 million, depending how many illegal aliens are included. Accepting that there are around 30 million legal citizens of this country uninsured that means 90% of the population is insured. So if I understand correctly the federal government is going to force 100s of millions of citizens already covered by some form of healthcare into a National Health Service similar to Englands, raise premiums (i.e. taxes) on everyone, add over $800 billion to the deficit while raping Medicare of close to $500 million to pay for this debacle. All this in order for the government to insure an additional 4% to 6% of the population (by the Senates own numbers, only about 96% of the pop. will be covered by this power/money grab). The question is, why should 90% of the population be forced to give up their current insurance or accept federal insurance so an additional 4% to 6% get coverage? Is there not a better way?
Am I the only one that finds this to be ludicrous!? This can only be paid for by denying healthcare to seniors, raising premiums, and adding a new payroll tax, otherwise your parents or grandparents will bankrupt the system as baby boomers retire and need more care. Try applying the Senates math to your own household budget; see how long it takes you to go bankrupt. Think about this, who will decide if it is financially feasible to continue treating your parents or grandparents? The same people who run the IRS and are responsible for managing our borders. Gives me a warm fuzzy, how about you?”
The so-called universal healthcare Bill just sent to the floor of the Senate, for debate and a vote, forces taxpayers to pay upfront for services not rendered for 5 years.I probably could have done better, but those are my thoughts right off the top of my head.It forces taxpayers to fund abortion services, never before done in our history.
It removes job protection for hospital workers who refuse, on personal conscience grounds, to aid and abet abortion services.
It forces taxpaying citizens to fund medical services for illegal residents.
It bribes certain members of Congress for their votes and does not impose the "law" equally among states. The government elites imposing it on us don't even have to subscribe to the plan for themselves.
The proposed law will slash Medicare, thus leaving millions of seniors' health at jeopardy.
The American people have been told that it will cost less than a trillion dollars to implement when the actual cost will be double, or triple, that figure, according to CBO estimates.
Supposedly they will pay for this Bill partially by cleaning up Medicare fraud. Why don't they just fix that anyway? The government could surely use the money.
When has there ever been a law that throws people in jail for refusing to buy insurance? This is surely unconstitutional. And, it doesn't even cover everyone!
Probably the only honest statement about this proposed bill was when US Representative, Joe Wilson, shouted "You lie!" at the address given by the President to Congress.
The American people should exercise their basic "public option" and vote out the Senators and Congresspeople who force this unfair law upon us.
Right! So the dems can gather our information.
Sorry .. I’m not stupid.
Bump
Greyeagle..Too Funny. I just got an email from the DNC thanking me for sending my letter.
I’d like to report that received 2 replies to my letter. One was from the Democrats thank me for speaking up (did they read it?) and to send them a copy if it gets published.
The other was from some newspaper in Chicago asking me to submit it again because they can’t always open “attachments” and to resubmit my name, address, and day and evening phone numbers. They even asked for a phot to publish with it. I told them that I didn’t have a digital phot handy, but I sent all the other info.
What happened with everyone else? Is it worth it to circulate this website to our political friends?
Done!
ping for later
I bet I receive hate mail from the commun...er, uh democrats for sending the letter I sent. Thanks for posting this link. I’ll pass the link along to the Michigan forum.
