Farm tractor driven through fence at Umatilla Chemical Depot
Umatilla Chemical Depot, Hermiston, Ore. A large farm tractor drove through a Umatilla Chemical Depot fence last night, and the driver abandoned it. The person responsible has not been apprehended. Security at the depot remains high.
The tractor did not get near the depots chemical weapons storage area. Depot security and off-post law enforcement officials are investigating.
No damage was sustained to chemical munitions or the Umatilla Chemical Agent Disposal Facility (UMCDF). The UMCDF is not processing chemical agent at this time.
Depot officials notified off-post emergency operations centers in Umatilla and Morrow counties, Ore., Benton County, Wash., those in Oregon and Washington states, the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation and the Oregon Dept. of Environmental Quality. Citizens should report any suspicious activities in and around the depot to their local police departments or the depot at (541) 564-8632. Citizens should be vigilant about their surroundings.

The deport is visible from a nearby highway. I’m guessing that some drunk teenagers stole a tractor. They’ve been destroying weapons there for a long time so it’s surprising that they are not done yet.
I don’t think that’s the largest tractor out there.
It is the biggest non-story of the week here, especially since a great amount of the chemical agents has already been destroyed.

It does seem to have a taller ladder and looks more capable of knocking fences down.
I've been to Havre a few times, but didn't know they had a tractor building operation there.

they can find out who's tractor it is and I'll bet they'll figure out it was some drunk teenager....fingerprints ya know....
