Sarah Robinson was just a teenager when World War II broke out.
She endured the Blitz, watching for fires during Luftwaffe air raids armed with a bucket of sand.
Often she would walk ten miles home from work in the blackout, with bombs falling around her.
As soon as she turned 18, she joined the Royal Navy to do her bit for the war effort.
Hers was a small part in a huge, history-making enterprise, and her contribution epitomises her generation's sense of service and sacrifice.
Nearly 400,000 Britons died. Millions more were scarred by the experience, physically and mentally.
But was it worth it? Her answer - and the answer of many of her contemporaries, now in their 80s and 90s - is a resounding No.
They despise what has become of the Britain they once fought to save. It's not our country any more, they say, in sorrow and anger.
Sarah harks back to the days when 'people kept the laws and were polite and courteous. We didn't have much money, but we were contented and happy.
'People whistled and sang. There was still the United Kingdom, our country, which we had fought for, our freedom, democracy. But where is it now?!'

Future generations of Americans should be afforded the opportunity to live in the freedom that those of us in this generation were born to.
Obama is using the SAME playbook the left with the Muslim Brotherhood used in the UK.
Keep watching TV and paying the cable tv and sat TV companies because it is their most effective tool. Your cable/sat TV bill doles out $1 a month to CNN, $1 to NBC/MCNBC/CNBC, etc. I cancelled my service.

I couldn’t finish reading the article because I just felt so awful for those folks. The horror they saw and sacrifice that they made for England, wasted.
I so admire that lost England. I have a book called This England by Nat. Geographic from the 60s, and the nation pictured in that book was still so proud, resolute, and cherishing their 900+ years of history by still living it everyday. They were the ones to bring greatness to so many lands, including our own.
For England to have lost all sense of what it is can only have happened through a deliberate plot to rob the nation of its heritage and subordinate it to the god of political correctness.
my mother grew up in England when England was being bombed
My grand dad was fighting and my nana did her bit making the ammo in a factory
All of them at that time were on rations for food etc.
My mam had to be sent off to the country side as most kids did because the city was being bombed and she had to say with an unknown family
I did my time in the service too ,
I know the stories and sacrifices as I heard about them all my life.
Now adays the UK has a large influx of pakistani;s who don’t give a crap and the younger generation look tot he Govt for their handouts.
It is not the same country what so ever but saying that neither is this country anymore.
The history channel has been doing shows showing unseen footage form the war in the pacific and Europe, it is in HD and color and I advise any person to watch them.
You see Americans and the British fighting but also civilians doing their work.
Nowadays we have a bunch of wimps who care about nothing but themselves and what they can get off others.

The final straw was when the population was disarmed. This the Brits brought on themselves.
The day will come when the Muslims start openly slaughtering people, as they have done for a thousand years once they reach critical mass.

It breaks my heart to see my old country go the way it has.
People then would help each other.
Street parties etc now there are places one cannot go because if you’re white or wearing a cross you can be killed and some have.

An old man by the name of walter chamberlain(google him) was walking in the street.
He was a vet from the war and was about 72
A bunch of pakistani’s attacked him and nearly killed him and then told him that he was not allowed to be where he was because that was their area now.
Imagine how he feels, he saw his mates killed, cities destroyed, he saw horrors and risked his life and now gets attacked and told this is not his country off some third world immigrants who want tot take over the country.
And now we still have idiots who turn a blind eye to this and welcome folks who care nothing about this country.
