This Sunday the Discovery Channel is running two back-to-back documentaries -- "Did the Mob Kill JFK?" and "JFK: The Ruby Connection" -- exploring the role of the Mafia behind the assassination of President John F. Kennedy:
New information and never before heard details of a startling confession raise new questions on just who was behind the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy and the subsequent killing of Lee Harvey Oswald by Jack Ruby. * * * "I had the little bastard killed. He was a thorn in my shoe" -- according to a secret FBI informant these were the words of his cellmate, Carlos Marcello, the notorious New Orleans mafia boss (one of Americas most powerful mafia godfathers) confessing to his role in orchestrating the Kennedy assassination and featured in Did the Mob Kill JFK." Almost half a century after the assassination, the informant has come forward to provide an exclusive interview that may solve one of the nation's most enduring mysteries and re-write history. * * * Marcello, who controlled mob operations in Louisiana and Texas, had long been suspected in having a hand in the Kennedy assassination. "Did the Mob Kill JFK?" links Marcello with both Oswald and Ruby, as the godfather reveals in his confession that he brought Lee Harvey Oswald into the plot, telling the informant that "He was my man. He did what the hell I told him to do." Marcello also admits that Dallas strip club owner Jack Ruby was deeply in debt and "owed him big." The special draws on an array of historians, investigators and eyewitness accounts, including interviews with author Lamar Waldron and former Secret Service agent Abraham Bolden who claims an aborted attempt on the President's life in Chicago early in November was covered up.

Federal officials had very little protection in those days. It was rather easy for Booth's gang to reach and kill people.
My bet’s on LBJ and friends...
Oswald was a lot more than a “liberal.” He was a communist who had lived in the Soviet Union and his wife Marine was the daughter of a KGB colonel.
Sirhan Sirhan is dumb as a stump.
John Hinkley? Nuts.
James Earl Ray? Practically illiterate.
John Wilkes Booth. Actor. I rest my case.
I think he had a previous deportation trial before that and he beat the government. That’s when they kidnapped him and dropped hiom up in the hills in Central America.
Are you a reporter?
Type in on You Tube: Jim Garrison’s conversation with Mr. X in the Park, watch both parts one and two.
No, but he once slept in a holiday inn.
Yup. Another thing: Oswald attempted to assassinate the strongly anti-communist Gen. Walker. What possible motive would the Mafia have against Walker?
So, his wife was a Marine, too. Was she in on it?
“Double Cross” was a very believable book.
Thanx. I have been watching this since Lane said that the family contradicted the father’s story that he was home on the day of the shooting. Hunt could have said anything else (gone on company business, etc.) but he chose to say he was at home.
I will suggest you are subject to the misinformation if you think of LHO as a dedicated anything. Little commitment, fewer smarts.
I don’t think he could plot his way out of a wet paper bag.
The following was one of the most detailed and exhaustive narratives on the topic.
Opinions expressed herein may not always agree with one, but FWIW, a good informative read, particularly about Ruby’s life.

Deep Politics and the Death of JFK by Peter Dale Scott, 1993,
Make that his wife Marina.
“Did the Mob Kill JFK”? Maybe. Or maybe it was Johnson. Or both.
People who believe these continuing nonsense theories are just running in the direction the enemy is pointing.
You guys or gals get it!
No, the newspaper said he was going on trial in New Orleans on November 22nd. He may have beat the government subsequently, but he hadn’t at this point.
I'm too old and seen too much to believe most of what comes out of DC, and anyone who starts by exonerating LBJ is by nature suspicious.
