A new Biblical Obama slogan making the rounds on conservative T-shirts and bumper stickers is being interpreted as calling for the president's death.
The slogan Pray for Obama: Psalm 109:8 seems innocent enough, but the actual verse reads: Let his days be few; and let another take his office.
The psalm goes on to say: "May his children be orphans, and his wife a widow." Read the entire psalm here.

That would be racist!
(go right ahead)
Clueless Joe is Obama’s best protection against assassination.
I don’t think so, about the T shirt, but I do remember a certain “comedy” show that had a picture of President Bush on the screen with the caption “Wanted Dead or Alive”. (or something like that)
I don’t buy this.
It presumes a liberal would actually open up and read a Bible.
>Scholars contend that the entire chapter is a plea for God to smite an evil man.
And since when is hating evil bad? The bible says this about it:
— The fear of the Lord is to hate all evil.
>Going beyond simple ill will, the psalm asks that that the victim lose all his worldly goods, that his orphans be abandoned, that his father be remembered as a sinner, and finally, that “his memory be cut off from the earth.”
Now I’m a believer that people shouldn’t be condemned by the actions of their relatives... but why is it bad to “call a spade a spade” and want an evil man to be remembered as a sinner? {I don’t recall a huge attempt by modern cultures to paint Hitler, the secular ‘evil-man’ as a good-guy... try selling Mein Kampf in Germany if you doubt me.}
>Those with knowledge of the bible say the passage, which is part of a class of psalms called imprectory prayers, should not be used at all.
Hm, would that be the same people who insist that God is love... while conveniently forgetting that He is a Just and Righteous God? The sort of people who say that the Sermon on the Mount should be taken to mean that a “good Christian” should never be offended, go to court, or stand against the wicked?
Hate speech against Obama........compared to what?
Hate speech against Sarah Palin
Hate speech against President GW Bush
Hate speech against conservatives
Take their question as being merely rhetorical and give them this answer ~ see a trusted rabbi, minister, priest or other Christian or Jewish advisor on this matter.
That's right!
But, if they're going to start pulling from other parts of the Bible, maybe they should start at the beginning.
They may just learn something!
Ahhhhh...so it's only being "interpreted" that way.
I guess that's about as fair and balanced as Ms.NBC can come.
Ah, well. It's a start.
Disagreeing with liberals is hate speech. Next on, staying silent when liberals call for support will be hate speech. Or hate silence, I should say. Or the silence of hate.
The slogan refers to ONE verse. Not the entire Psalm.
BTW, MSNBC....."bible" is properly CAPITALIZED! As in "Bible".
Ignorant infidels. *dismissed with the wave of a hand, middle finger extended*
It was CBS's Late Show in 2000.
Freakin hypocrites!!
Thanks. I hope they try to make a big deal out of this so-called 0bama assassination. If they do, this image of President Bush needs to be plastered everywhere. I can’t stand this double standard, and I think people who missed it the first time around and who are now waking up will be interested in this.
Nice find
Is this the thread to send insults to the Secret Service?
