Cool. No more soft targets.

What would be even better is to arm a few of those ships to the teeth, and go troll the waters. After a few of the pirates get blown out of the water in spectacular fashion after attacking what seemed to be just another cargo ship, they won’t know which ships are safe to attack and which not. and they may start to think twice.

“Roger Middleton” probably moonlights at Lloyds, providing the pirates with insurance info on ships so they know which ones to raid.

In any case, he’s a disgrace not just to the UK but to Western Civilization.

The U.S. Navy supported their self-defense actions.

The EU, naturally thinks that their ships should depend on their own navies to protect them-we see how well that is going!

THE ULTIMATE ADVENTURE CRUISE

... I KNOW what I want to rent ...
Hello! Nothing gets a pirate's attention like a Barrett M-107 .50-cal sniper rifle; only $59/day with 25 rounds of armor-piercing ammo affordably priced at only $29.95.

Never got to fire one but saw it fired. You could cut a hole in a jungle with one of those things.

From the article...

However, Roger Middleton, a piracy expert at the London-based think tank Chatham House, said the international maritime community was still "solidly against" armed guards aboard vessels at sea, but that American ships have taken a different line than the rest of the international community.

Note to pirates: It is safe to attack non-American ships. They're not armed.

So GUNS in the hands of private citizens (not police or military) saved the day again.

Yes!

It is amazing that the U.S. Navy isn't allowed to just wipe these guys out.

Keith “X” Ellison will probably file a human rights violation with the UN.

...and he calls himself a “piracy expert”???

-LOL

What you have to remember is in the European Union "expert" is a job title.

I think pirate-repelling would be a cool job!

No kidding, it's enough to make me want to go out and re-enlist in the Navy...

Apparently it also applies to the U.S. Congress.

Somalia is a desert craphole that lives and dies by its fishing fleet. If a few villages saw all their boats sunk in a couple hours’ work for the SEALs, then the rest would get the message loud and clear.

“...However, Roger Middleton, a piracy expert at the London-based think tank Chatham House, said the international maritime community was still “solidly against” armed guards aboard vessels at sea, but that American ships have taken a different line ...”

This, from a “”subject” of country whose culture and society is being overrun and undermined by Muslims.

Yeah...we’ll take advice from good ol’ Roger, won’t we...

When it comes to my life and those I love, i say F*** the “international community”.

Come to think of it, I say “F*** the “international community” for just about pretty much everything...

Glad to see Maersk came to their senses. Protect life, protect property.

Send a message: “This far, and no further.”

Applies everywhere.

It would work for me in my current situation...

But when you inquire, you kinda get this “huh?” reaction...

I figure I am qualified...Yet no one needing this kind of service knows or understands what those qualifications are or mean...

I would definetly be able to work on muh tan...

I believe I heard the Russians were offering charters for folks who want to go out there and hunt pirates...

That may have been what you heard or saw...

I believe it was in one of the first threads on FR when the whole piracy thing started ramping up...
