WASHINGTON -- Attorney General Eric Holder is defending his decision to put the professed Sept. 11 mastermind on trial in New York -- and urging critics of the plan not to cower in the face of terrorists.

Holder is set to testify Wednesday before the Senate Judiciary Committee, where lawmakers are likely to spar over the attorney general's decision last week to send Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four alleged henchmen from a detention center at Guantanamo Bay to New York to face a civilian federal trial.

In remarks prepared before Wednesday's hearing, Holder says such concerns are misplaced, because judges can control unruly defendants and any pronouncements by Mohammed would only make him look worse.

I think this will be must see TV on CSPAN and I do hope folks give him hell, I am beyond outraged over this decision and I have read there will be protestors there and I say bravo, make your voice heard.

Current polls show that this is a highly unfavorable decision. One poll cited on Fox last night had a 2 to 1 unfavorable margin.

It’s being reported that Holder will be appearing before this committee today concerning the TERRORIST trials he wants to hold in New York City. This committee has the duty to the American public to deny this outrageous move by Holder. These terrorist are NOT American citizens and have NO rights in our court system or under our Constitution. They belong in front of a military court. For once, put politics aside and do the right thing - send the TERRORISTS to military court. We don’t want or need a side show on this issue.
