The key to Christie's victory in Middlesex can be seen in the precincts in Edison and the Iselin CDP in Woodbridge. These towns have the highest % of Indian Americans in the United States, and voted for Christie (white working class Woodbridge proper went for Corzine). South Brunswick, which has been a center of migration for more affluent East Indians (and, to a lesser extent, Chinese) also went for Christie.
The Democrat’s debt programs and high taxes equal a pocketbook issue. Or wallet, if you prefer. It is a universal issue for almost everyone with good business sense.
If this really is a trend, it’s very nearly the best news ot the year.

Corzine still carried the working class “first ring inner suburbs” vote. Including some towns that are 80%+ “white”; according to Census records.
Democrats are going to see this and are going to be bolstered in the belief they can take the 2010s.
However Christie took the first ring of NYC’s exurbs solidly, will give the Republicans some hope.
Edison has gone from Democrat stronghold to slim Christie vote. How times have changed.

Asians don’t appear to be nearly as identity driven as other racial minorities.
I’d figure based on issues that non-HI (were the unions rule) Asians should be voting Republican.
They should be targeted by the GOP.
Even Asians like the diversity quotas and affirmative action.
