With Congressional Democrats in near-panic amid forecasts that unemployment will remain high through next Novembers midterm elections, a party leader said on Thursday that the House will pass a new jobs bill before Dec. 18.
With more than half of last winters $787 billion package of tax cuts and stimulus spending still in the pipeline, Representative Steny H. Hoyer, the Democratic majority leader from Maryland, said the new measure should not be called another stimulus bill.
He indicated that the legislation might include money for public jobs, which many liberals have advocated; tax credits to employers for new hires, an Obama campaign proposal that was shelved early this year amid concern that businesses might game their payrolls; and additional spending for infrastructure and road projects.
All the economic analysts have indicated that it is going to be very difficult to reduce the jobless rate, he said, but we are hopeful to make progress on that.

Wow...more free money! Come and get it...
Democrat FAILURE.
“I suggest we tax the eff out of small businesses, and use that money to pay off union leaders and their relatives. I’m pretty sure that would help.” [/sarc]

TRANSLATION: we’re going to throw more of your money away on patronage, and when it fails (as we KNOW it will) we’ll whine that it’s a “tougher problem than we expected”.
Can’t get out of that hole, Rats? That’s it. Dig faster!
Morons . . .
I love how these idiot politicians and media types act like a “created job” can somehow just happen at the will of politicians. Politicians can’t create ‘real’ jobs. All they can do is take money from people and move it around.
The only thing politicians can do for job creation is to help create an economic environment that will be favorable for people with money to hire other people to produce something for them for profit. Unfortunately, it seems the political class is totally lost on this.
Hey demoRATs, how about just cutting gubmint spending in 1/2 and seeing what that does to the economy!!! I would say that it is about 100 to 1, that the economy would explode if the socialist gubmint pigs get their grubby little hands out of the way.
Tea Party to Congress, don’t bother, we’ll take care of your jobs soon enough!

“Dat Bambi sho’ nuff got a BIG-ass stash!”
i hope they do just what this article says. the more they spend on meaningless “jobs” programs, which they have to borrow money from our kids to pay for, the more the American independent and traditional democrat voters are repulsed.
You know what this is? It’s desperation on the part of the Dems. They smell the inevitability coming their way in 2010.
Call your Representatives and tell them NO to another stimulus, er ‘jobs bill’.
“should not be called another stimulus bill”
Ah, so now they are open about their newspeak and doublethink...
Slowly starve them then toss them crumbs so they will lick your hand.
Typical Dem BS
Rahm Emanual's internal polling data on Porkulus must be really bad. Good to see voters aren't as stupid as last year.
Paging Wesley Mouch....
I don’t care if the Democrats start to crap out gold coins. I am not voting for them next year no way no how!
