So much of an idiot, in fact, that according to Tappers source, at least one Japanese paper isnt running the photo out of embarrassment. This tool actually groveled himself into a minor international incident.
The good news for O-bots? It wasnt unprecedented. Nixon evidently made a modest bow to Hirohito in the early 70s. The bad news?
Obamas handshake/forward lurch was so jarring and inappropriate it recalls Bushs back-rub of Merkel."
Kyodo News is running his appropriate and reciprocated nod and shake with the Empress, certainly to show the president as dignified, and not in the form of a first year English teacher trying to impress with Karate Kid-level knowledge of Japanese customs."
The bow as he performed did not just display weakness in Red State terms, but evoked weakness in Japanese terms
.The last thing the Japanese want or need is a weak looking American president and, again, in all ways, he unintentionally played that part."
The smart learn from others’ mistakes.
Dolts simply make them anew.
“No comparison with Nixons head nod. The Dems will trot this out in a futile attempt to cover up this major diplomatic blunder.”
No comparison whatsoever. Here`s a photo of it.
Well? They were a bunch of idiots for electing him.

Obama’s supporters can argue that Nixon and Hirohito mutually bowed to each other, but you will notice none of Obama’s minions bring up the fact that other world leaders do not bow to Akihito.

We are so sorry for bombing Hiroshima that we have set in play policies to ensure that one of our cities will be nuked by terrorists in a few years. That way America will assuage its guilt. Why should Japan be the only nation to have suffered such an attack? It is only right that New York, LA or Miami is sacrificed in exchange.
0ba-Mao. Like Nixon only better.
Plus, it looks like he’s talking to him and Nixon just
got in a little closer to hear him.
Someone in Hillary’s State Department has children who take Suzuki lessons, too; you can almost see the bubble over his head, “Ichi, ni, san, chi” (one, two, three, four) during the bow!
Obama is so low in his bow that the emperor actually has to stoop to reach Obama’s awkwardly outstretched hand.
Plus, it looks like hes talking to him and Nixon just
got in a little closer to hear him.

Yes, indeed it does.
“Nixon evidently made a modest bow to Hirohito in the early 70s. “
It’s not just the Democrats, folks. Nixon opened up China to world trade with “Most Favored Nation” status. Dubya left the Mexican border open for millions of wetbacks.
Forget about Japan, he’s screwing up all over China today
The guy is a cultural moron: a perfect bow-shake offered to the Emperor.
The President of the United States is both Head of State and Head of Government of the United States. As such the equal of every other Emperor, King, Queen Regnant*, President, or Prime Minister on the planet.
Bowing to a foreign monarch is a major protocol violation. One of a number by the President this year.
You can’t blame it on the protocol office anymore. The fish rots from the head...
Obama translated into Japanese is Obukkake.
I couldn’t agree more with your assessment. I wouldn’t discount another opinion, upthread, that Hirohito is saying something and Pres. Nixon is leaning in to hear it. That makes sense. They would want to keep any personal exchange low so the microphones wouldn’t pick it up.
Did China have MFN status then and have it taken away. I clearly recall the Republican Congress under Clinton fighting hard for it in the '90s. Newt? Paging Newt.
As a former ice cream server 0ba-Mao can mix up any kind of shake. /s
