Rasmussen: 59% of GOP Voters Say Palin Shares Their Values
Rasmussen Reports ^ | 11/16/2009 | Rasmussen

Fifty-nine percent (59%) of Republican voters say former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin shares the values of most GOP voters throughout the nation.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 21% of Republican voters disagree and think the 2008 vice presidential candidate does not share their values. Twenty percent (20%) are undecided.

By contrast, 74% of Republicans say their party’s representatives in Congress have lost touch with GOP voters nationwide over the past several years. Only 18% of Republican voters believe their elected officials have done a good job representing the base.

We should expect a huge change in strategy after the MSM’s character assassination has been such a complete failure.

Watch for a total news blackout on Sarah or conversely, wall-to-wall coverage on her make-up, fashion sense, recipes and anything that will reduce Sarah to a Martha Stewart or June Cleaver clone.

She will be *cleavered*.

The rasmussen poll does not say that. It just gives her strongly favorable at 20 and strongly unfavorable at 29.

The ABC/WaPo poll has Pain’s approval ratings are at +43 / -52. That poll includes all adults.

Christian Group Questions Palin’s Pro-life Credentials

http://lesforlife.blogspot.com/2009/11/christian-group-questions-palins-pro.html

“Sarah Palin has presidential ambition, but she’ll have to get serious about protecting the innocent,” said Birkey

WTF??? I read that passage and nowhere does it substantiate how Sarah is “not serious about protecting the innocent.” For God’s sake, she gave birth to a Downs child in a day and age when making the problem go away is oh-so-easy. What are people expecting from this woman?

OK, just read the other one. I want to see this from a different source, though. She’s proved her mettle, as far as I’m concerned.

Barring anything else unexpected, the unemployment figure will be what decides ‘12. If it’s over 10%, 0bama is gone no matter who is running against him.

I think the MSM will find their bowels clutch when they realize that a large number of Independent/Libertarian and ‘classic’ Dems thinks she represents their views.

Most of the conservatives I know, lean pro-life, but believe that individuals, not the gov’t, should make that choice. Regarding redistribution of wealth, most folks I know of all stripes, don’t mind paying into the pot and helping folks to help themselves, but are uninterested in having non-deductible ‘dependents’ who enjoy the fruits of their labor. Finally, even those who don’t personally use a firearm, don’t want to take away the right of others to bear arms...they realize their worth to society! Regarding legalization of pot, most understand that a) it really does help those on chemo and b) well, many born in the late 50’s and 60’s have tried it. The issue arises not from medical users or occasional responsible recreational users, but those who would have it be a permanent crutch in their life. Don’t want to pay for them sitting around stoned, ya know. Other drug use is not likely supported by very many. So the left has to drudge up what they can.

In essence, most of the conservatives I know are conservative by choice, but as respecters of the constitution and individual liberty do not seek to prohibit others from living their lives as they see fit, as long as it does not impose standards, burdens, or obligations on how they [conservatives] wish to live their lives. Also, I don’t believe that most conservatives believe that social behavior or change can be imposed by diktat. Instead, it is by honestly exploring the issues and the consequences of a particular action. In short, conservatives tend to think.

So the MSM will continue talk about the ‘base’ trying to polarize and isolate the voting public. Like the Who song lyrics, I suspect that many ‘won’t get fooled again.’ No. No. No.

The rasmussen poll does not say that.

The Rasmussen poll does say that. You add the strongly favs (20) and the somewhat favs (31) the exact same way Obama's numbers are calculated.

Do you have a very favorable, somewhat favorable, somewhat unfavorable or very unfavorable impression of Sarah Palin?

21% Very favorable
30% Somewhat favorable
14% Somewhat unfavorable
29% Very unfavorable
5% Not sure

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/toplines/pt_survey_toplines/november_2009/toplines_sarah_palin_november_13_14_2009

Unless I’m reading this wrong, she has a 51% approval rating, not with Republicans, with LIKELY VOTERS.

I was a Fred fan and was terribly let down by his campaign. I pray we find someone strong and conservative to take down this man ruining our country.
As a lady caller told Rush today, “I feel like I am being waterboarded daily by our president”.

There is no real Republican party electorate.

Sarah should run as the Conservative party candidate.

That’s scary.....the number should be MUCH HIGHER than 59%. That doesn’t bode well.

That's not a particularly good reason to diss her. She wasn't able to do much governing anyway with all the frivolous lawsuits filed against her. It was an honest thing to do.

Yowza. This little tidbit is buried towards the bottom:

Sixty-six percent (66%) of voters nationwide say they’re at least somewhat angry about the current policies of the federal government. That figure includes 36% who are Very Angry. Most doubt that the leaders of either major political party understand what’s needed.

That does not bode well for incumbents.

And then this:

Just 4% of voters nationwide believe that most politicians keep their promises.

It looks like there is a huge opportunity for outsiders who can make modest promises.

This is a very encouraging news. Obviously, despite the negativity from the media, Sarah is doing something right, and almost 60% of Republicans feel that Sarah shares their values.

I'll be glad to get behind Sarah -- if she wants to run. If she doesn't, would rather be Mom-Grandma-Author-NightMgratWasillaBurgerKing, I'll be rooting for her in that too, but we can all do without a platform of "If nominated I will not run, if elected I will not serve."

I would be perfectly happy to have her as a gadfly, a Good Conscience Fairy, one of the best Presidents we never had, if she so chooses.
