This place is 70 miles from where I live. I’m not so worried about the terrorists, but the lefty loonies coming around here to protest. I believe Rockford has the closest Federal Court, so we can have them all over for lunch. Great.

The Montana story came up a few months ago. Both Baucus and Tester said something like “over my dead body” that the terrorists would come to Montana.

The only way they should go to Illinois is if they were sent to Geneseo so a local manufacturer could use them to test their new products.

Quite a few months ago, last spring. The recent articles were due to the AFP rolling into town.

I think the Ill Gov is using old information (or the news service is). Two Rivers Authority has not updated their cite since Oct 21, 09.

Both State Sens, the State Rep and the Governor are against the housing of Guantanamo prisoners here.

What whores these Illinois politicians are. They have bankrupted the state with irresponsible spending, corruption, and pandering to the Civil Service Unions. They provide Sanctuary and state benefits to people who don’t belong here. They drive business away with confiscatory taxes. And the answer to the economic desert they have created is to put our children at risk by importing foreign terrorists captured in foreign lands. How long? oh Lord, how long?

On May 21, Obama said,
"Where demanded by justice and national security, we will seek to transfer some detainees to the same type of facilities in which we hold all manner of dangerous and violent criminals within our borders — highly secure prisons that ensure the public safety," Obama said. "Bear in mind the following fact: Nobody has ever escaped from one of our federal 'supermax ' prisons."
We only have one federal supermax prison.

Will the Illinois prison be converted to a supermax prison?

Obama is an idiot. The risk isn't that an inmate will escape.

The risk is that someone else will target the prison, or the community around it, to protest the detention of his compatriots.

Guantanamo is isolated from the rest of the world. Cuba's police state takes care of security on the rest of the island. It's the ideal place to keep high-risk prisoners that would attract attention from their buddies that would be happy to blow themselves up nearby, just to make a statement.
