What do the Japanese themselves think of the Bow?

Oh Oh, the worst thing you can do to a narcissist is to laugh at him. That picture will live on and on.

Some flattered and of good will in return (to the USA), some embarrassed, some not wanting to talk about it, some laughing, and some of them, it going to their head (in a nationalist kind of, look-who-we-made-bow-despite-our-losing-WWII-gloating way). There is a variety of feelings and sentiment here. It is controversial, though.

thanks for that perspective.....
My first reaction was that he felt he was too tall towering over them and his “bow” was even more exaggerated....
Who in the world is advising him??? Don’t they know protocol and image?

From all indications, he “freelanced” this one on the spot, without listening to or taking anyone’s advice which would have professionally and responsibly advised to do otherwise.

Thanks for posting this AIT! It’s great to get your interpretation and translation from Japan! :)
As I joked before.......
‘Wow Bow’...but left his ‘Bow Wow’ at home (and I ain’t meaning the dog, BO).

I know you are aware of our Tea parties here in the states, I do believe it could be arranged as a “theme” in any public way to openly laugh at Obama, banners, bumper stickers, internet images etc, all with a common theme backed by over 100 million Americans...
All are laughing at Obama.
I applaud the nation of Japan they show and speak truthfully unlike a good portion of Americans that cower in fear against challenging Obama.

LOL!!!
Somehow, I thought that the Japanese had a general disdain for those who are not oriental.
This must have been quite a site.

"That picture will live on and on."
Of course, if it were Ahmadinejad he'd be facing the other way as he bent.
The perfect metaphor for his disastrous presidency.
