Carrie Prejean has canceled public appearances designed to promote her new book after two major developments in the conservative starlet’s public image.
First, it was reported that a controversial video tape of Prejean had surfaced during settlement negotiations with her former Miss America pageant bosses. Prejean was 17 when she made the tape, which she said was meant for her boyfriend’s eyes only.
TMZ, the media outlet that had obtained the tape, said they did not publish it on their website because it was “so racy.” Because of it, they claimed, Prejean received nothing from her back-and-forth lawsuits with Miss America and was riddled with paying her own lawyers’ bills.
More recently, Prejean threatened to walk off the set of Larry King’s nightly news show when King asked her repeated questions about her confidential settlement with Miss America Pageant officials, and then patched in a call to her from a listener. Prejean called the questioning “inappropriate,” took her mike off, and after about a minute of on-air silence, King broke for a commercial.
Critics immediately used the developments as reasons why Prejean was unqualified to speak about her opinions on gay marriage.
“Prejean -- Family Doesn't Always Come First,” read a TMZ headline. Since then, Prejean cancelled her keynote speech at the New Jersey Family Policy Council’s Defenders of the Family fundraiser, an appearance at an invitation-only event at the National Republican Club of Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., and numerous other radio segments.

We all do.
That doesn’t “justify” what she did, but I like to put it in context: her age, her generation, the culture within which she was raised.
I think the entire materialist US culture is one of the most corrupt on the planet. She is merely a product of it.

I agree with your tagline. I just feel a kind of stealth movement is underway to undermine support for Palin by trying to require perfection from conservatives, on pain of being called moral or religious hypocrites. So I try to point out the real hypocrisy of the moralistic denunciations when they seem particularly grotesque.
(On the other hand, virtually everything the Rats do is grotesque, so it's a target-rich environment...)
Did Maggie say she supported the gay attack on Prejean?
I’m sure Prejean wishes she hadn’t made these videos....as do most of us who supported her for honestly in stating her un-PC position on gay marriage and all the flak she took for it.
Just imagine how much the left would love it if Hannah Giles had made videos of herself masturbating.
The left loves to tear us down and I just cringe when someone does such a good job assisting them - and yeah, it’s a huge double standard - but it is what it is.
She had the looks, class, and potential to be a great spokesperson for young conservatives. However, she doesn’t connect the dots very well and it’s time for her to go and quit embarrassing herself. She may be the target of the gay media—but she made herself a vulnerable bullseye.

She didn’t make any sex tapes with boyfriends. She was solo in the one tape they have proved was made by her, the other tapes are in doubt but they are also solo. Get your facts straight and don’t believe every fickin’ thing the media tells you.
why anyone makes those kinds of tapes is beyond me. They are BOUND to get out and you have no defense. You CHOSE to make it and now you reap what you sow. Just plain fact!

The likes of Bill Clintoon can go play with cigars in the oval office with an intern, lie under oath, and to the MSM it doesn’t matter because it’s just all about sex. And Ted Kennedy can leave a girl to drown because he was too chicken to get caught cheating and end up a national saint.
When my hubby told me about what happened to her I was thinking, wait a minute... did she ever pass herself off as Miss Purity? I don’t think that she really did. I think people thought that of her and she allowed her presence to be framed that way.
For some reason there’s a wide belief in the MSM that only christan right-wingers are against gay marriage and for family values because of religous principles and the MSM thinks that by attacking Carrie and christains in general, that they can win the argument. But it isn’t so simple because they are wrong. These are core majority values that are not owned by any particular group. Gay marriage propositions on the ballot have proven that over and over again.
For a single woman to stand up for family values and against gay marriage, she does not have to be sexually pure, married, or living like a nun lest she be labeled a hypocrite. I could see the point of outrage if the videos depicted her in compromising positions with another woman, or if she had kids hidden somewhere that she abandoned or was an abortion addict. But that is simply not the case. To the contrary, for someone to be as uninhibited as she seems to have been, it appears that she has taken responsibility to not end up with the disasterous kinds of consequences that kind of behavior can bring about.
So, is she really a hyocrite? I think not and I wish for the sake of the causes she believes in, that she wouldn’t let the MSM win.

Plus you are making moral judgments about a bunch of Miss America contestants based on relatively minor issues. I appreciate female beauty and do not wish to see it suppressed. A person uses the talents God gave them.

As far as I know, she never said: "I support the gay attack on Prejean."
On the other hand, when the gay/MSM alliance digs through Prejean's personal life and finds private, never intended to be publicized material, and then uses it to blackmail Prejean into stopping her public speaking against gay marriage, Maggie takes the position that the blackmail is based on a "discovery" of Prejeans supposed "immorality," rather than blackmailing her on her MORAL privacy.
SO: since a massive political effort is being made to silence Prejean, and since Maggie is making a direct argument to people she presumes will reject Prejean if she is associated with immorality, I would say that Maggie is indeed supporting and enabling the silencing of Prejean, which is exactly the intended goal of the gay/MSM alliance.
As to why Maggie would do this, she seems to feel fully justified in taking the position that conservatives must be "perfect or bust." In response, the gay/MSM alliance are laughing their butts off, and scratching the enormous political focusing power of Carrie Prejean off of their to-do list, while raising a champagne toast in thanks to Maggie for her moral cleansing efforts.
LOL, I like that. She should just embrace the publicity and pose for Playboy etc and take advantage of the attention while she can. After all, that's what she entered the beauty pageant for in the first place, attention, right?
This reminds me of that old adage, be careful what you wish for, you might get it. Lots of folks all over the political spectrum seek the public spotlight, and then complain when it's not as sufficiently adoring as they expected.

Her opinion of gay marriage was contextualized as “fundamentalist conservative”, which means she has to be pristine virginal perfect and godly or she is a hypocrite and failure and her opinions mean nothing ...
It doesn’t matter that the same opinion is held by the majority of people as reflected in voting on the issue, so it isn’t a fundamentalist conservative opinion at all ...
She spoke out in a public media venue answering a gay activist question, and therefore gets defined by the rules and rulers and activists of that venue (Thank You, Donald Trump.)

I constantly see the alleged video(s) referred to as either porn or masturbation. Nobody has seen the video(s) and so we shouldn’t accept the MSM portrayal of their content. The only people who have seen the video(s) are a sleazy ex-boyfriend, the scum at TMZ, and maybe a few people at the Miss America pageant.
Why wouldn’t they just release the video(s) and destroy her credibility? Probably because they would have lost the ensuing lawsuit and destroyed their own credibility in the process. It wise to take everything that this crowd says with a grain of salt.
