Carrie Prejean has canceled public appearances designed to promote her new book after two major developments in the conservative starlets public image.
First, it was reported that a controversial video tape of Prejean had surfaced during settlement negotiations with her former Miss America pageant bosses. Prejean was 17 when she made the tape, which she said was meant for her boyfriends eyes only.
TMZ, the media outlet that had obtained the tape, said they did not publish it on their website because it was so racy. Because of it, they claimed, Prejean received nothing from her back-and-forth lawsuits with Miss America and was riddled with paying her own lawyers bills.
More recently, Prejean threatened to walk off the set of Larry Kings nightly news show when King asked her repeated questions about her confidential settlement with Miss America Pageant officials, and then patched in a call to her from a listener. Prejean called the questioning inappropriate, took her mike off, and after about a minute of on-air silence, King broke for a commercial.
Critics immediately used the developments as reasons why Prejean was unqualified to speak about her opinions on gay marriage.
Prejean -- Family Doesn't Always Come First, read a TMZ headline. Since then, Prejean cancelled her keynote speech at the New Jersey Family Policy Councils Defenders of the Family fundraiser, an appearance at an invitation-only event at the National Republican Club of Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., and numerous other radio segments.

Amen! When I was about 14-years-old I had a pastor who would point out that everyone was going to sin. Some more than others, some in quality not quantity, and also the other way around. He explained that if a human could manage to live a sinless life then the sacrifice of Christ would have been for naught.
He often referred to the part of Romans where Paul talks about doing the things he didn't want to do and not doing the things he wanted to do.
Whether she realizes it or not, IMHO, this young lady is much better off out of the world in which she was aspiring to excel. There is nothing in the world of beauty pageants, especially at the level where she was competing, that is good for the soul. It's cut throat, dog eat dog, knock down drag out no holds barred world and it takes a toll of those who engage in it.
>>I cant help but feel she brought a lot of this on herself ,, If your makin porn flix with several boy friends you might not want to get in the Miss America pagent . Try a hustler or playboy pagent . I do agree with her honest statement about homomarriage .<<
This.
Also, this demonstrates how far our culture has fallen. In my generation, the “free love” generation, creating such a video would have been unthinkable to most young girls. This young woman utterly and completely destroyed her chances of ever becoming any sort of young persons “moral” compass when the record button was hit.
LOL, the sodomites can’t find anybody else to hector so they pick on a beauty contestant!
LMAO!
It’s clear she was set up on the gay marriage issue. I admired her courage in speaking her mind. The problem is she is not the moral person she pretends to be, IMHO. She proves it over and over ... and over again.
I guess you missed the total sarcasm in which I wrote that statement.
SO TRUE ........
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find only things evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelogus
Well, I don’t think she really lectured anyone. All she did was state her beliefs. Then, when challenged, she stated why she believes as she does. Are you saying that if you have something wrong in your past, you can’t ever publicly state that you’re a Christian, and why you are one?
Because it is drilled into them daily since they were born that their only worth is their appearance and to be sexual playthings.
You are so right about her. She just got caught in the politically correct war and she did not even know she was being tossed into it. I just hopes she gets her life back.
I didn't see any /s, and I missed it in immediate context. But when I re-read the thread I realized I misfired - my apologies.
Please consider my post 14 transfered to maggief.
This woman’s morals clearly aren’t in step with her conservative image.
(You might want to lay off personal attacks, noob.)
Perhaps she shouldn’t have put on this super-pious demeanor when she (caution: TMZ-sourced audio recordings and photos as source) had sent 15 sex tapes to a boyfriend she met for a weekend fling when she was 19-20 yrs old, and claimed she was 17 when she made the cell-phone recordings.
coffee...nose...keyboard...thanks?
Then comes you... the one who pick over the corpse and announces that the poor girl deserved what she got.
She should have just answered that gay marriage was okay. She would have won the pageant. Instead, she is destroyed and her life laid open for all to see.
But again... she deserves her. After all, she's not who she pretended to be.
I bet the video is far more tame than “porno”. It is probably more like a striptease. She seems to be a decent enough person who may have had a few youthful indiscretions like poor choices in dating partners (everybody plays the fool, sometimes). We all make mistakes. Most of ours just don’t make headlines.
I really don’t understand why conservatives would be willing to throw her under the bus. We shouldn’t side with the “gay mafia” when they attack her for relatively minor infractions of social etiquette. What she did was by many magnitudes far less disgusting than what the “gay mafia” does on a Friday night in San Francisco. We didn’t turn on Rush for his drug problem and that was a far greater breach of trust.
It’s such a shame what they’re doing to this poor girl. Nearly everyone, beauty contestants included, has made mistakes in their past. To say that someone isn’t entitled to their own opinion based on an unrelated issue is just asinine. I know first-hand what gay marriage can do to families, and even though she’s made mistakes, she’s right about what’s wrong with it.
The only thing that happens over and over and over again is the attacks against her. She's done nothing "immoral" if she is granted the privacy within which she acted and which everyone - including you - deserves. FYI, sex is not immoral per se - but digging into someone's sex life in order to expose privacies to trash a person in order to promote a political agenda is immoral. So stop clucking your moralistic, mercilessly judgmental tongue.
