A simple head bow is all that is really needed...only the subserviant give the full waist bow...in my experience with Japanese businessmen.

Also, you don’t shake and bow at the same time.
In a formal setting, the geisha would bow fully, hands in front of their hips.

Business men exchange ‘meishi’-business cards with two hand and then a short head bow.

When meeting with the President of a company, I bowed to about 45 degrees to honor him and his company for their fine service.

The President of the USA should NOT be grovel bowing like that...unless of course he’s a pu$$y.

He bows to “royalty”. Wow, I have never seen a US president do that. I thought the revolution was about getting rid of royalty and making everyone equal under the law to pursue their own happiness. Oh, well, so much for old, stale ideas.

that is the muslim way

In Japan, bowing has finesse. This is the equivalent of grabbing a guy’s hand, pulling him against you, putting your arm around him while shouting at the top of your lungs, “Well, GD! I finally get to meet me a genuine bigshot! How’s it going, Old Buddy!”

Bowing down to an emperor? My disgust for this puke knows no bounds.

As an AMERICAN, I DESPISE emperors, whether they have power or not. And I consider no man or woman to be my “superior”.

You don’t know how bad I want to drop in a donkey’s rear in place of the Akihito handshake but Holder would probably come after me.

“An American President bowing to the Japanese Emperor. I bet Roosevelt, Truman, McArthur and a million dead American veterans are rolling in their graves.”

No joke. 0’s on quite a roll this week...I wish our system had a way of voting “no confidence” and forcing a special election for President if the current one is bad enough.

He might possibly be impeached for violating his oath to uphold the Constitution, but not with the bunch of crooks we presently have in Congress.

GOP 2010! Palin 2012!

I saw that. He thinks people are stupid and will say.... Oh, he really did bow to the Saudi king because he was short. What a loser.

I do not have a problem with this.

I do.

And so should any other American that fought in this nation's wars.

We bow to no man, nor do we demand any to bow to us, even if we whipped their ass.

Obama is a simpering fool, and he flushes our nations pride and self-respect down the toilet of idiocy on a daily basis.

Anyone schooled in the art of diplomacy (as the POTUS should be) would know the customs and traditions of the country one is visiting.

In Japan, he signaled subservience and allegiance to what many Japanese consider a living deity.

He did the same thing in the mid-east, when he bowed to that so-called "royal" goat herder.

Pray for Obama...see Psalms 109:8.

"I do not have a problem with this. To me it is showing a sign of honor and respect."

The President of the United States should NOT bow to any King. However, I don't consider Obama a legitimite president, so he can prostrate himself before any penny-ante princeling or two-bit dictator that crosses his path.

In the Japanese culture.....

In American culture men only bow to Jesus.

We have no King but Christ!
